At 10:00 am (December 24, 2025), the Thai military used T-50 fighter jets to drop four bombs into a civilian residential area deep into Cambodian sovereign territory in Banan district, Battambang province, along the route to Pailin Province, before continuing toward Chanthaburi Province. The T-50 is an aircraft manufactured in South Korea. Thailand’s aggressive approach and the level of force used against Cambodia suggest this goes far beyond a narrow claim of border defense and points to deeper objectives beneath the surface. Please be informed about the situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border regarding the Thai military forces’ attack on Cambodia in the 3rd Military Region at the area of Cham Yeam Border Checkpoint, Mondol Seima District, Koh Kong province on December 19, 2025. - From 06:30 pm to 06:55 pm, the Thai military launched approximately 10 to 20 artillery shells from their warship falling into the water in the area behind a hotel near the Cham Yeam border checkpoint, Mondul Seima district, Koh Kong Province. As of now, the situation has returned to calm. Cambodian forces will continue to closely monitor the situation and remain vigilant in carrying out their duties with utmost caution.

The Thai military has reportedly destroyed the conservation building of the Preah Vihear Temple's Gopura V Conservation and Restoration Project, a Cambodia-India cooperation project, along with other conservation infrastructure in the temple area, according to the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts. In this shooting incident, Thai soldiers used handguns, B40 machine guns and mortars. Immediately, Cambodian forces contacted the Thai side to immediately stop firing on Cambodian forces because the Cambodian side did not return fire. And later, Thai military stopped firing at 2:32PM.
