This evening, we have the privilege of co-hosting a prestigious dialogue session in collaboration with @Amref_Worldwide. The aim is to engage in thoughtful discussions about forging strategic partnerships for collaborative programming and advocacy at the intersection of health and climate action. During this event, children will have the opportunity to express how climate change has impacted their lives. @SaveChildren_KE and @Amref_Worldwide are uniting their strengths to confront the challenges arising from the convergence of health and climate issues. Our joint vision centers on fostering resilient families, communities, and health systems capable of adapting to climate change and its associated shocks. Throughout this gathering, our objective is to investigate prospects for harmonizing our initiatives and pooling our resources to accomplish common objectives related to climate and health. Ultimately, our endeavors aim to benefit the communities across Africa that we serve.

"Climate change hits home in Kibra, where water scarcity has become our daily reality. Buying water is costly, and worse, contaminated water brings waterborne diseases. It's time for our government to prioritize climate action for a safer future," Moses, Kenya Children Assembly.

At our Learning Workshop, we are discussing about the digital education revolution that's leveling the playing field for young learners in Dadaab Refugee Camp. In line with SDG 4 and Save the Children's Country Strategic Plan Goal 4 on education, @SesameWorkshop's 'Watch Play and Learn', and @LibraryForAll's 'Safe Back to School' projects in partnership with @SaveChildren_KE are making education a reality for thousands of children in the refugee camp. Picture this: 3406 learners, previously at risk of being left behind, now embracing the transformative power of digital learning.

📢🧑🏾‍⚖️ Attention policymakers! It's #WorldBreastfeedingWeek, and it's time to make breastfeeding at work, work! Let's bridge the gap and empower women with both their jobs and breastfeeding choices. Here's how you can help in #Enablingbreastfeedingatwork: ✅Legislating at least 18 weeks, preferably more than 6 months of paid maternity leave · ✅Ensuring employers provide paid time off and a dedicated space for breastfeeding or expressing milk after this period ✅Ensuring all women have access to maternity entitlements, including those in the informal sector or on limited contracts ✅Tackling employment-related discrimination against women, including during and after pregnancy and birth

Children's needs cannot be met if they are not budgeted for. So glad to have participated in budget discussions with @WajirKE for the 2024/2025 financial year. In this meeting, we advocated for increased budgetary resources to meet the needs of the most deprived children in Wajir County. We continue to champion for increased public investment in children to ensure they survive, learn and are protected!
