Steve Parish said: “Wilfried Zaha leaves the club having been our best and most influential player. As much as we would have loved him to stay, after long discussions it became clear he wanted a different challenge, to experience something new and somewhere different before the end of his career, and I think that’s something we can all understand. “I would like to personally thank Wilfried for everything he has done for this football club. He leaves as our most capped Academy graduate, our talisman, our greatest player, and he leaves lifelong friends behind. He remains a true inspiration for all our young players in the Academy and at the early stages of their Palace career - all of whom dream of being the next Zaha. “We would not be the club we are today without Wilfried. We are entering our 11th consecutive season in the top flight, and he has spearheaded the vast majority of those campaigns. A phenomenal player, who gave us incredible moments on the pitch and worked hard in the community helping inspire people off it, he will be treasured in all of our memories. “Good luck, Wilfried, I like many Palace fans will watch from afar and wish you every success on your new adventure.” #CPFC

Can’t believe I’m seeing Palace fans completely turn on Zaha because he’s finally leaving our mediocre club to win trophies after single handedly carrying us for the last decade 💀

Speechless! Words can’t exactly express or describe the joy I felt standing there and witnessing this painting with my family and friends honestly 🥲 still hasn’t sunk in but all I can say is thank you ❤️

Upset is an understatement about how my game ended last night but it’s God plan so I will be back very soon! On a much brighter note immensely proud of the boys and how they dug deep and got the 3 points we deserved 🙏🏿 amazing support from our beloved fans as usual !

• Gives 10th of salary to charity • Paid out of own pocket to keep Palace's women's team going when it struggled financially • Does a lot of work for charities including underprivileged children after he himself was homeless when 6 Put some respect on Wilfred Zaha's name! 👏🏻

Wilfried zaha on his behaviour. “On the pitch it’s tougher: there are matches to win. “Me being moany and whatever, that’s me on the pitch, that’s me being passionate and wanting to win. If I come across as a bad person, so be it. But I know deep down I’m not a bad person. #CPFC
