Powell (‘participants don’t see rate cuts this year‘) and Yellen (‘we are not considering insuring all uninsured bank deposits‘) were crashing the market today. $SPX -1.7%, $KRE -5.7%, $XLRE -3.7%. $VIX has some catching up to do tomorrow on a down tape.

VIX update.

This is an interesting chart I saw this am from Bloomberg. MOVE which measures rates vol Vs. VIX which measures stocks vol. As you can see there is a massive divergence here. Which will happen first: bond vol will come down or stocks would sell off? Happy Fed Day!
