ANALYSIS VREMIVKA SALIENT NIGHT TO JUNE 6 June 5th ukrainian forces continued their offensive operations at the Vremivka Salient. In the east there where substantial success for the ukrainians, even though the russian MoD claims catastrophic losses for the ukrainian side. The UkrAF reorganised the 23rd and 31th brigades who took heavy casulties on June 4th and continued their offensive on June 5th. 23rd Brigade fought towards Novodarivka and Rivnopil without success. During late evening they also attacked a hill southwest of Neskuchne without success. 31st Brigade first tried to hold on to Neskuchne but when thats was a failure, they tried to attack in the direction of Urozhaine, but had to withdraw. In the east 37nd Marine Brigade with help from reserves from 68th Mountain Brigade was more successful and captured Novodonetske. Ukrainian media are still surprisingly quiet even though their side has taken Novodonetske. The reason for this might be the catastrophic losses incurred on the ukrainian side by the russians. According to the russian MoD Ukraine lost The total losses of Ukrainian troops in the South Donetsk direction amounted to more than 1,500 Ukrainian soldiers, 28 tanks, including 8 Leopards made in Germany and 3 wheeled tanks AMX-10 made in France. There was also 109 AFVs or APCs destroyed. These numbers are staggering if true. The conquest of Novodonetske isn't worth such losses. If we combine losses from June 4th and 5th we get at least ukrainian losses of around 1800 soldiers, 40 tanks and 150 IFV/APCs. If we are generous, and say that the 1800 soldiers consist of both killed and wounded. We also say that vehicles are not just destroyed, but also damaged. Still the figures are devastating for the UkrAF. Losses of 18 000 soldiers, 400 tanks and 1500 IFV/APCs in 3 weeks are not sustainable. When it comes to the 8 destroyed Leopards I just say, gimmie pictures or it hasn't happened. There are photo confirmation of about two dozen destroyed or captured IFV/APCs and 3 AMX-10X. But not anything on tanks and even less on Leopards. Let's wait and see, but I'm inclined to believe most of russian claims and those are enough to spell disaster for the ukrainian counteroffensive. @MikaelValterss1 I have two options, either accept what Russian MOD says or accept what British news papers say. I prefer the earlier. 😂😂
