When Daniel’s business partner stopped answering his calls, Daniel knew something was wrong. They had been partners for six years. They started with ₦800,000 between them and a ridiculous amount of confidence. Their first office was so small that if two people stood up at the same time, somebody had to apologize. But they grew. Eventually they had employees, contracts, two branches, and enough money to start behaving like men who had forgotten how poor they once were. Then Daniel noticed something. The company account was lower than expected. He called his accountant. “Where’s the money?” “What money?” “The money that should be there.” The accountant hesitated. “Sir, you need to speak with Mr. Emeka.” Daniel called Emeka. No answer. Again. Nothing. He sent a message. “We need to talk.” Emeka replied three hours later. “I know.” That was all. The next morning, Daniel went to the office. Emeka wasn’t there. Neither was his laptop. Daniel immediately assumed the worst. By afternoon, he had convinced himself that his partner had stolen from him and disappeared. He called their lawyer. He called the bank. He started preparing for war. Then Emeka showed up at Daniel’s house that night. He looked exhausted. Daniel didn’t invite him in. “Where’s the money?” Emeka looked at him. “What money?”

What if after Doom thought he broke Peter the kid didn’t disappear, he just evolved. That’s the scary part. You don’t come out of something like that the same person. Round two wouldn’t even be the same fight. I honestly don’t know who wins that one anymore.

The funny part is that ‘decommissioned’ doesn’t mean the ring was broken. The Guardians simply took Hal’s old ring out of service and gave Guy a new one instead. So the ring wasn’t useless at all. They just decided it was done being used. And the fact that John could still use it later shows the ring still worked. Basically, they didn’t retire it because it was broken. They retired it because they chose to.

🎬 MIDSOMMAR (2019) Dani was already going through the worst period of her life. Her boyfriend’s solution was apparently to take her to Sweden with his friends and introduce her to a smiling community where nobody understands the concept of red flags 😭 At first Hårga looks beautiful. Flowers everywhere. Sunshine that barely disappears. Everybody wearing white and behaving peacefully. Then the festival starts properly. One strange tradition becomes another and somehow the visitors keep witnessing things that should have had everybody packing their bags immediately. But Christian and his friends keep staying because apparently curiosity is stronger than survival instinct 😂 What makes Midsommar different for me is that most of the horror happens in broad daylight. There’s nowhere for the movie to hide anything and somehow that makes everything even more uncomfortable. Florence Pugh was incredible too. Dani’s emotional journey basically becomes the heart of all the madness. I’m giving this one an 8.5/10. They travelled to Sweden for a cultural experience. The culture experienced them instead 😭

Then his father turns up dead. From there, it becomes a messy game of seduction, manipulation, secrets, and murder. The interesting part is watching Holden slowly realize that he may not be in control of the situation at all. An underrated early-2000s thriller. Have you seen Wicked Minds?
