We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Raymond Gilpin, the Chief Economist @UNDPAfrica to Nigeria. His visit comes at a pivotal time, as Nigeria is pushing towards unlocking innovative development finance mechanisms for structural transformation. Dr. Gilpin’s visit will feature deep dives into: ➡️ Navigating the global financial architecture to lower Nigeria's cost of capital. ➡️ Mobilizing domestic finance, and ➡️ Strengthening subnational governance to make states engines of investment and growth.

Nigeria's fintech ecosystem is unlocking pathways to structural economic transformation.  At the Frontier Finance Dialogue with Dr. Raymond Gilpin, Chief Economist, @UNDPAfrica, we convened fintech leaders including @theflutterwave, @InterswitchGRP, @moniepointng, alongside impact investors & venture capital firms, to explore a pivotal question: How can Nigeria strategically mobilize its vast pools of domestic capital towards development and high-impact sectors? The conversation identified how FinTech, innovation, venture capital, and impact investing can channel both domestic institutional capital and international investment into agribusiness, renewable energy, and digital infrastructure, which are key to driving inclusive growth. At @UNDPNigeria, we remain committed to partnering with innovators, investors, and policymakers to design smarter financing models that accelerate inclusive and sustainable development across 🇳🇬 under the leadership of @NigeriaGov

The global race is on, and the new currency is talent. Nigeria's human capital is our greatest asset. Yet, our raw potential remains untapped without the structured pathways and partnerships needed to forge it into world-class capability. At the 31st Nigerian Economic Summit, on Acceralting Nigeria's Human Capital Development, I stressed that to position Nigeria as a global talent hub, we must fundamentally re-imagine our education systems, democratise access to innovation practices and align learning directly with the needs of a rapidly evolving economy. @UNDPNigeria, under the leadership of @NigeriaGov, in collaboration with partners, we have embarked on bold and ambitious efforts to contribute towards this strategic objective of incubating the next generation of talent. The private sector's role in providing patient capital, market access, and early-career pathways is imperative. However, the transformation of Nigeria will not come from one sector alone but from a shared vision powered by partnership. Sincere appreciation to @PlanningNG & @officalNESG for convening such a timely and visionary dialogue.
