So he held the boy’s head above water for nearly thirty minutes until rescuers arrived. An officer finally cut through the car’s seat belt and pulled him free. His father and older brother were rescued safely as well. That 4-year-old boy is alive because a complete stranger saw what was happening, jumped into the water and refused to leave him.
