This thread is devastating and a stark reminder that we cannot just “move on” from COVID. This impacts every aspect to our lives so when people can’t show up in the ways you want because you all refuse to protect disabled people, remember this is always in the backs of our minds

We may feel people senior to us will be great mentors. Although they may be great people, it is possible they have played some SERIOUS respectability politics to get to where they are, and you may not get the support you're looking for. You may have to navigate on your own a bit.

I’ve been holding this in because what’s the point right, but it is so unbelievably frustrating how we just gave up on public health in this country. People can’t even make risk decisions accurately because daily COVID cases aren’t being counted (at least in DC). What a failure.

FELONY DISENFRANCHISEMENT IS A MECHANISM OF VOTER SUPPRESSION 1-in-19 Black voters are felony disenfranchised. In 10 states, 1-in-10 Black voters are felony disenfranchised. 4.6 million Americans, mostly POC, are felony disenfranchised to GOP benefit (see map).

I was a "tomboy" who loved sports and wore clothes meant for "boys". I wore my hair short. Do you know how I know that I wasn't trans? Because I hated when people mistook me for a boy. I just wanted to like what I liked. Being a tomboy and being trans are not comparable.

I don’t accept the ridiculous “You do you” strategy because, when you’re out “doing you”, and getting infected over and over, and spreading Covid, you’re making it harder for me to avoid the virus, and you’ll be helping to clog up the hospitals for others who need care. #COVID

There are plenty of poor people stuck here without cars (I will become one when my ancient car eventually dies) and we don’t have transit, cabs, or consistent sidewalks. A couple of my fellow subsidized housing neighbors leave here before 6am to walk the highway to work in town.
