The KRG’s electronic payment platform @epsule_payments has processed over three million transactions since the launch in February, increasing adoption of digital payments across the Kurdistan Region. This growth has been further accelerated by banking over a million citizens through the MyAccount initiative. We have partnered with leading banks and digital wallets across the country, and we plan to process 90% of all government revenues through e-Psule by the end of 2028. The platform brings the KRG a single source of truth for all government revenues — including electricity. Moreover, all revenue is audited by an external party to add an extra layer of quality assurance and transparency. Our thanks to Kak @mo_hawar and his team on this stream. The progress has been remarkable. gov.krd/moel-en/activi…

Iraq’s actual electricity output today is more than 35,000 megawatts. That is enough for every governorate when you compare it with the Kurdistan Region’s model. Instead of learning from our experience, Baghdad has announced it wants to double generation to 70,000 megawatts, enough for two countries the size of Iraq. That shows the crisis there is one of mindset and approach, not generating capacity. Runaki and Iraq’s power crisis en.964media.com/53819/

We're grateful to H.E. @masrourbarzani for his unwavering support and encouragement with #MyAccount over the last three years. Beyond the impact of financial inclusion and modern banking, I want to dedicate this win to the people who made it possible. I’m grateful to the team of more than 600 people who carried MyAccount across the finish line despite the fierce political, cultural and social challenges. You defied the cynicism and never lost sight of our goal. I’m proud of every single one of you — from the coordinators who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to the agents who stood by ATMs through summer heat and winter storms. Together, you transformed over a million lives. Your fingerprints are on every ATM, debit card, and electronic payment across the Kurdistan Region. You introduced financial independence to the public, standardised payment mechanisms, and strengthened the KRG Ministry of Finance and Economy as an institution. You should be proud of this work, just as I am proud to see you reach this milestone today. Thank you. #MyAccount

Following an investigation by the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Unit, my personal office and the home of the head of the Security and Intelligence Agency were targeted by Iranian drone attacks earlier today. I condemn these reckless and unacceptable attacks in the strongest terms. This is a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region. These attacks will not deter us from carrying out our duties and protecting our citizens -mb.

Nearly 800,000 KRG Employees Receive Salaries Through 'MyAccount' Nearly 800,000 KRG public employees will receive May salaries through the "MyAccount" digital banking system ahead of Eid al-Adha. The rollout marks a major step in Kurdistan Region financial modernization despite an 80 billion dinar federal funding shortfall. Read the full report here: kurdistan24.net/en/story/91647…

The KRG’s financial inclusion programme, MyAccount, continues to see steady growth. This week, nearly 800,000 public sector employees and beneficiaries will be paid through partner banks — that’s nearly $500 million flowing through the financial services sector. The banked population has now grown significantly too, especially when you consider it was less than 5% before MyAccount. Deposits across the banking sector have also continued to stabilise above 10%. Our thanks go to our partner banks for their continued investment in ATM infrastructure, call centres, applications, retail operations and new branches. The banks have now deployed 600 new ATMs in public areas, placing cash access within five minutes of most public sector employees. We’re especially pleased that satisfaction levels are highest among pensioners, reflecting the programme’s impact on some of the most vulnerable beneficiaries. Lastly, thanks to MyAccount and the strong team behind it, tens of thousands of banked citizens now pay their electricity bills in seconds through @epsule_payments. gov.krd/mofe-en/activi…
