I went to uni in 1996. In 1st year, because of our family situation, I got a full grant. In 2nd year, no change in situ, but no grant. By final year, not only no grant, but upfront tuition fees of £1k per year. What changed? Labour were elected between my 1st and 2nd years.

It’s unacceptable to take children out of school to campaign on behalf of unions. You can’t decry school absence & then enable it. Children are not tools for political activism. Bridget Phillipson must investigate this immediately or show union loyalty comes first.
