If the debate is framed as Offensive vs Defensive weapons financing or transfers, we are not having the discussion we should be having which is the need for targeted sanctions on the Israeli military and its leaders. Stay focused.
I think people have this backwards. This isn’t “AOC effect”. I think J Street has been pushing this talking point of “Israel can buy its own iron dome” among Dems and it’s problematic bc it creates space for Israel to directly purchase US weapons with fewer restrictions
This is all well and good but if we have decided we should not give Israel military financing (we shouldn't!) because they violate international law and human rights with them on the regular, then we should not sell them weapons either, even if they can afford it.
The Israeli government is well able to fund the Iron Dome system, which has proven critical to keep innocent civilians safe from rocket attacks and bombardment.
Consistent with my voting record to date, I will not support Congress sending more taxpayer dollars and military aid
There are things in this world that should never happen
and yet, they are happening.
This story sounds like fiction.
But this is our life.
Two and a half years ago, when the Israeli army entered Al Shifa Hospital,
they took a number of newborn babies from the maternity ward.
Newborns.
They were separated from their mothers, from the only warmth they had ever known and sent to Egypt.
Without names.
Without families.
Without anyone to claim them.
They disappeared.
For more than a year, there was no news.
No answers.
No certainty about whether they were even alive.
Yesterday, some of them were returned.
And I cannot stop thinking about one moment.
A mother standing there.. trying to describe her child.
Describing the face of a baby she had only known for less than a week.
Trying to recognize her own son through memory alone.
Through fragments.
Through hope.
Through pain.
Then, suddenly.. he is in front of her.
Alive.
She breaks.
A joy so overwhelming it almost looks like grief.
And the child?
He looks at her .. without recognition. Without memory.
Without the instinct that should have guided him back to her arms.
He does not know her !!
And perhaps what is even more devastating
he does not know what a mother is.
What kind of world separates a child from his mother
before he even learns her face?
What kind of war steals not only lives,
but the most basic human bonds?
This is not just loss.
This is something deeper.
Something colder.
Something that tears at the very meaning of being human.
This ..
is what hell looks like.
#WoundedGaza
Life in Gaza is extremely bleak. There is overwhelming chaos and social and financial problems that cannot be described. The scale of the tragedy is immense, and life continues without mercy.
Do not abandon Gaza. Keep your eyes on us.
I don’t know if anyone will care about what I’m saying, but you must read this tweet to understand what is happening in Gaza.
Before the war, Gaza’s area was 336 square kilometers, with over two million people, one of the most densely populated places on Earth. We lived under a suffocating siege by land, sea, and air. Electricity reached us only six hours a day, water barely two days a week. Unemployment was high, despite many being university graduates.
Then the war came… and the reality became harsher than anyone could imagine. Today, we live in a small part of Gaza, barely enough space, with unbearable population density. People have been forced to set up tents next to garbage dumps, on streets, inside hospital courtyards, and in any space they can find.
Military sites are being established along new borders, and entire areas seized, including my home, which no longer exists.
Our homes have turned into dilapidated tents unfit for living. For years, we have had no electricity, and water is extremely hard to get. Famine strikes repeatedly, no education for children, no hospitals capable of treating patients, diseases and viruses are spreading, unemployment is suffocating, displacement never stops. Arrests, continuous bombings, blockade on aid, travel restrictions, even reconstruction materials are blocked, as if the destruction must remain.
Every day, we witness unbearable scenes we document them with cameras and broadcast live, yet nothing changes. People collapse in the streets from hunger, die from diseases, homes collapse on those inside.
All this pain… moves no one.
I have realized that, in the eyes of this world, we are merely numbers nothing more. And I do not understand why we are treated with such cruelty.
BREAKING: Major BDS victory.
Energy giant Eni withdraws from Israel’s illegal offshore operations in Palestinian waters.
Following this major vote of no confidence in Israel’s economy, BDS calls for an escalation in pressure on Eni to end all complicity.
BDS win: New York City public hospitals commit not to renew Palantir contract after activists raise concerns over its complicity in Israel’s genocide of Palestinians and ICE violence.

NEW POLL: 56% of voters say Trump's war against Iran benefits Israel over the US. Just 29% believe the US benefits more.
Our poll with @demandprogress and conducted by @DataProgress also finds this war for Israel will be a liability for Republicans in November.

Today I conducted an oversight visit to see Leqaa Kordia in Texas, who has been detained by ICE for the past year after being targeted by Trump for advocating for Palestinian rights.
The aim is the dismantlement of state capacity, the dissolution of institutional order, and the fragmentation of societies across the Middle East. Israel does not want functional neighbors. It wants a region too broken to resist.

The U.S. government used Zionist doxxing sites to target a Columbia protester. She's been in ICE detention for 330 days.
Now she's malnourished, having seizures, and ICE disappeared her from her family for 3 days.
Her name is Leqaa Kordia. Her only crime was advocating for Palestine.
mondoweiss.net/2026/02/the-go…
Leqaa Kordia watched Israel murder 200 members of her family in Gaza. She protested and then got picked up by ICE. Nearly one year later, her life is in danger in detention. Free her now.
Leqaa Kordia has spent nearly a year in an ICE prison for exercising her First Amendment rights in NYC & speaking out against the ongoing genocide in Palestine.
She was hospitalized after suffering a seizure. Now she's back in detention.
This is cruel & unnecessary.
Release
🚨BREAKING: Leqaa Kordia has been discharged from a hospital after a medical episode and immediately returned to ICE detention, where she has been held for nearly a year, according to journalist Laila El-Haddad who is also involved in efforts to advocate for her release.
El-Haddad said ICE blocked Kordia’s family and lawyers from seeing or speaking to her for more than 72 hours and that her family still does not know what happened during her hospitalization. Kordia is the last Columbia University protester still jailed.
🚨 BREAKING 🚨
🪡 Leqaa Kordia was discharged after a serious medical episode— then immediately sent back to the ICE jail she has been locked up in unjustly for a year. For 72+ hours, ICE blocked her family and lawyers from seeing or even speaking to her.
Take action for Leqaa Kordia, a Palestinian unjustly held by ICE for almost a year. She has been hospitalized after her mistreatment in custody.

🚨 BREAKING; Leqaa Kordia, a Palestinian unjustly held by ICE in Praireland Detention Center in Texas for 11 months for protesting the G in G@aza, has been hospitalized after passing out and suffering a seizure 🚨
I want you to all witness something specific this moment in America.
As armed US forces carry out state-sponsored violence, the people are not accepting it. They are calling to fight back, recognizing very well that fighting back comes with risk- as high as being killed. Still, they are calling for confrontation.
I say this to remind everyone that when abuse and violence is enacted on us- Palestinians- systemically, consistently, and relentlessly by Israel with US weapons, the world orders us to endure it, and to “co-exist” with this violence, and went as far to suggest that we should negotiate with Israeli serial killers-- who proudly flaunted their mass slaughter to the world as a show of force.
Do you perhaps understand a little more how absurd these demands were? To ask a people to accept and negotiate with brute violence which is willing to detain children, and either murder or torture people.
Do you perhaps understand a little more how abusive of a demand you pushed on us?
Now that there is a point of reference closer to home, can you for a moment, just a moment, recognize what you were ordering us to do?
🚨As I said, Trump seeks to replace the UN with his "Board of Peace," which he'll be the forever president of; have total absolute control over; & will use beyond Gaza (e.g. Venezuela, Ukraine, Greenland)
Billionaires, corporations, private contractors, mercenaries & Tony Blair will replace the multilateral institutions we know, which Trump is already defunding, withdrawing from & attacking.
Any country that wants to stay on that Board needs to pay up $1,000,000,000 that Trump will personally use as he sees fit, b/c even if a majority of the members/states vote for a certain action, Trump needs to personally approve it.
Trump stays the head of this board even after his term is over, & he gets to personal handpick his successor (e.g. Ivanka, Jared, Elon, Peter Thiel... or whoever pays up).
A full return to the imperial era, with the dystopian addition of being ruled by the likes of Palantir, Larry Ellison, BlackRock, Blackwater, Blair, Trump... aided by ultra-powerful tools of suppression & surveillance that have already been field tested in Gaza (e.g. lethal AI systems, 24/7 monitoring...)
We, Gazans, are a canary in a coal mine, the testing ground, whatever the world lets happen to us, will come to you & your children next!
Trump's "Board of Peace" isn't just about Gaza; it's about replacing the UN & multilateral system with unaccountable billionaires, businessmen, politicians...
The Board's founding charter calls for "a more nimble & effective international peace-building body," & "the courage to
