@bigten @KariLakeFox10 Well, I suppose it is their right to roll the dice to see how many sports participants will conduct the COVID-19 experiment. Universities are well known for doing research projects, but usually not on their students. IMHO, their rights stop at their participants noses.

@ChrisPetersBITW @bigten @bigtenNetwork or a 13 game round robin. Not good that teams like PSU/UM/OSU would have to play each other twice and teams like IA, WI, MN get a much easier time. Round robin by lopping off the out of conference for 3 of the teams you weren't going to play in the other division and add the 4th

@bigten @bigtenNetwork Okay...hear me out on this one. A 12 game, division only season with home and home series between teams, similar to how NFL divisional play is done. Limits traveling and guarantees 6 home/6 away games. Winners of each division go to Indy 🤷🏼‍♂️ thoughts?

@bigten @bigtenNetwork IF there is a football season this fall (big IF) will they still play a 12-game conference only schedule or will they only play 9 games? And how will that affect the conference’s ability to make the playoffs (IF they have a playoffs this season)?

@bigten So for football this fall with the teams only playing 9 games how does this affect the bowl eligibility? Since most teams like none conference games to assist them in getting bowl eligible

@CQuimby4NU @bigten exactly then you have a mess. Plus kids commit thinking x player is going to be gone and I can compete for that spot. Now x is staying another year and it weighs on the minds of a lot of the kids. Not most, obviously, but a bunch. That's the crazy part of the management

@CQuimby4NU @bigten That's a good question. Or if the season is cancelled.. The graduating senior is probably out of luck as he'll be off to the real world or work unless he's NFL caliber. Juniors, etc could retain a year but that would make roster management and recruiting "interesting"..

@bigten What happens if a student athlete decided not to participate for any number of reason including personal health concerns? Do they forfeit a year of eligibility? Senior either play or end their career?

@BCarigan @bigten Seems administrators are not confident that the situation will improve by spring. This announcement seems to be a way to be able to point back in August and say, “We’ll, we wanted to play, but the virus just won’t cooperate.”
