He and his family faced financial hardship and almost lost their home, until some generous benefactors raised money for him. Bernt remains unemployed today, despite staff shortages for dentists in his area in Gotland. At the time, Sweden scoffed at the tests and claimed they were “discriminatory” but since then they have quietly brought in mass dental testing, for those whose age is in doubt, by the National Board of Forensic Medicine. Bernt deserves a medal. Not vilification and unemployment.

So here is the question for Andy Burnham: when the public was promised tougher rules, why is it your own Cabinet that is hinting they will be watered down?

It's fair to say that people being turned away for wearing poppies didn't sit well with the locals in Gosport (this was a gathering in response to the rejection) Disgraceful! OK. Wetherspoons have come out with a poor statement in my opinion trying to connect the refusal of entry to a protest going on up the road away from the premises. This is retrospective awful spin. We’ve all seen the videos The manager/security made it clear. Remove the poppy and you’ll be allowed access. This means the men rejected were not rejected due to poor behaviour nor because they may or may not have attended a protest. They were rejected purely for wearing a poppy. As I say, it was stated if they removed the poppy they’d be granted access. The poppy was the problem not the men. Wetherspoons should just hold their hands up. Apologise and reprimand the senior manager who made that decision. That’s it. We all like spoons. We all know Tim Martin is a proud countryman and we support him. But they need to get the message right on this and not try to gaslight the public.

Local abattoirs have collapsed from roughly 2,500 in the 1970s to around 200 today; surveys of farmers show large numbers warning they may have to stop producing meat locally or exit entirely if the next one closes. This week the government launched its "Be Ready" campaign, advising households to keep non-perishable food, litres of bottled water per person, cash, torches and radios in case of cyber attacks, extreme weather or other disruptions. That is sensible basic preparedness. What is absurd is watching the same state systematically weaken the domestic producers who actually grow and process the food that would make the country more resilient in the first place, while imports fill the gap and rural businesses fold. You cannot talk seriously about national resilience and food security while watching the infrastructure that produces British food shrink year after year. The contradiction is obvious.

ITV EXPOSE but here’s what you need to know. In Portsmouth they implemented 2 full time journalists to infiltrate our group for around 2 months during the election period.
