To think this was not even what the prophet was aiming at (The Bible wasn’t compiled in his days); the context of the respective chapters also are not even narrating Creation & Judgment but using its themes to exhort Israel. But God who knows all things from the beginning. 🙌🏾❤️
Isaiah has this dramatic portrayal of the entire Bible: having 66 chapters (like the Bible’s 66 books), Chapter 1 just like Genesis begins with God setting the Heavens & Earth in order with His word and Chapter 66 like Revelation ends with a New heaven, earth & judgment of sin.
But “in the year that king Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting upon His throne, high & lifted up and His train (robe) filled the temple”. Because while there may be uncertainty & instability on earth in human government, my eyes are fixed on the king of glory above, our Peace.
Goodmorning, Gentle reminder that Moses’ wishful thought is now a reality (Joel 2:28, Acts 2:16) you have a huge privilege, stir it up & use it (till many are blessed by it).
This tweet 🤯 Jesus went 6 hours on the cross, not feeling the loving presence of the powerful Father because of our sins...6 hours of separation and it broke Him. “ Eloi! Eloi (“My God!”, El also meaning “Power”) Why hast thou forsaken me.” Don’t stay long without power guys!

Church folks will listen to your God ideas because you know Bible, Outside folks will listen to your God ideas because you’re relatable. You have no business picking the “friend of sinners” trait of Jesus if you have no plans of influencing them as He.
In closing, I’d just put this thought out: In view of all these shared: How many of us in the critical time of pressure would speak to the Lord, demanding that He satisfies the true craving that you (for His sake) would not seek to do yourself. He will help you in that moment.
What am I saying in summary, using Paul’s life example & teaching? The same thing the Apostle Peter says below. A key part of your overcoming sin’s pressure is recognizing in your mind that you’re not alone; you’re not even facing the worst, and you can similarly win as others.
What am I saying in summary, using Paul’s life example & teaching? The same thing the Apostle Peter says below. A key part of your overcoming sin’s pressure is recognizing in your mind that you’re not alone; you’re not even facing the worst, and you can similarly win as others.
Also telling the church to do all things on Christ’s behalf. “whatsoever ye do...do all in the name of the Lord Jesus...” Recognizing that practically, we have the tendency to over-deify Christ’s humanity, he also says “follow me & those that show you a good example of Christ.”
All of these are just to mention a few. Now as it relates to temptation’s pressure, we know he encouraged himself with the fact that Jesus could do anything, yet Himself chose to resist temptations even when pressure meant suffering death, which is not even our daily experience.
Php 2:5 - He teaches them/us Humility: The case in point is Christ who existed in God form, becoming Man to die. 1 Tim 6:12-13 - He tells Timothy to keep the confession of faith strong in the face of witnesses just as Jesus kept His confession of Himself strong before Pilate.
Gal 6:17 - He euphemizes his own scars of persecution as “marks of Jesus” being of superior value than “proof of circumcision” Judaizers demanded of the Galatians. Paul also relayed instructions to individuals & the church using situational experiences of the Christ:
2 Cor 13:4 - When taken for granted for his appearance, scorning the power of God in him, he reverts to Christ who was crucified in the appearance of weakness but now lives by God’s power. Gal 3:1,4:13 - He used his own bodily weakness to illustrate the death of Christ to them.
1 Cor 11:1 - He expressly stated he was imitating Christ. 2 Cor 1:17 - In showing accountability for a change of plans, He quickly reverts to Christ, illustrating His non-changing assurance. 2 Cor 4 - He relates his sufferings for Christ, with Christ’s own suffering for us.
To mention a few examples in which Paul would always revert to Jesus Christ, His experiences and compare where he stands with respect to his own experience & choices include:
One of the many ways this works is: If you remind yourself you’re not alone, and someone else won/is winning in their choice, mentally you’d be encouraged to not fail. I haven’t even mentioned how that the Holy Spirit takes over the situation and uses it to strengthen you.
One of the things I know he did was consistently use Christ as a marker for every thing He did. Even in the simple things, he’d constantly compare where he was with what Christ did in such scenario. He even taught we should do the same and I’d show you.
The people who wrote the Holy scriptures (Old & New Testaments), weren’t angels, distant from pressures we feel. But real people, out of weakness were made strong; most of them learning how to attain to a better way of living. Pay attention to them, if they won we can too.
Coupled with the fact that as a super-apostle, his own battles would be tougher (2 Cor 12:7), I can perceive the pressures this single itinerant preacher might have had to deal with personally. But he knew something: there’s a way to properly handle your body in God perpetually.
I believe Paul understood better than many of us how much pressure the body’s desires can be. He was a creative (tentmaker), a very bright mind: such are even more strongly predisposed to these feelings. Scriptures like Rom 7:7-8, 1 Cor 9:27 and some others strengthen my point.

Going on 30 hours without power... what’s the longest you’ve ever gone without power?

“Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” - 1 Peter 5:9 Peter said the mental attitude to have in resisting the devil is “know you’re not alone, other believers all over are fighting it too”.
Also telling the church to do all things on Christ’s behalf. “whatsoever ye do...do all in the name of the Lord Jesus...” Recognizing that practically, we have the tendency to over-deify Christ’s humanity, he also says “follow me & those that show you a good example of Christ.”
