An onchain equity can now be bought by anyone, anywhere, at any hour. Tokenized equities are the fastest-growing corner of onchain real-world assets. But the asset arrived alone: no capital structure around it, and it inherited market hours without inheriting market makers. That gap matters the moment anyone tries to hold leverage on these assets. Conventional leverage has two failure modes. Either a liquidation price ends the position, or the position decays over time even when the thesis is right. Two forces do the damage: volatility drag, which is mathematical, and financing drag, which is the cost of the capital behind the exposure. Where an asset's long-run drift outpaces both, there is a productive band of leverage where compounding works for the holder. Most products ignore the band and sell a round number instead. @2FactorFinance builds for the band. It splits an asset's volatility into two perpetual tranches. The senior side takes deep downside protection and is paid a premium for taking the first losses. The junior side carries the leveraged exposure with no liquidation trigger and no external hedging counterparty. What junior pays senior is priced against the cost of stable funding rather than the cost of shorts, which is structurally cheaper and more predictable. The multiple is computed from the asset's own volatility, not chosen off a shelf. The numbers show why. Near 60 percent volatility, the band closes early, which is why the Bitcoin junior targets about 1.33x, and why 2x and 3x BTC products decay over long horizons. At equity volatility of 16 to 19 percent, the band extends well past 3x, with the research around 2.1x for the S&P 500 and 2.35x for gold. Bitcoin is the hardest case for this mechanism, not its natural home. One caveat I keep coming back to: none of this has survived a full market cycle yet.
