Nice energy.Lower voices could articulate more (could be cleaner).Could use more contrasts not just forte# 1st and 2nd violin could communicate more when they have parts together - lower voices should come out. Nice job staying together.

Viola solo was amazing. Other parts could be better in tune when they come in. Try to come in together (this could be done through more eye contact and cuing) and softer. Dynamics could be more obvious - try experimenting more! Overall, this was very well rehearsed.

Great energy! Some places could be cleaned up in terms of articulation and intonation (everyone should match). More communication between first violin and viola could make it more unified (using the same part, speed, stroke, and amount of bow). Very well rehearsed!
This piece was very relaxing. They should work on making more eye contact and gestures (more communication). There are some spots where they could match sound better and intonation could be cleaned up, but overall it was very nice.

Nice choice! Very well rehearsed - everyone had their parts prepared. Some parts could be tuned better and they should focus on more communication (ex 1st, 2nd vln part together) and eye contact. Very lively performance, but could use more energy.

Very lively performance! Inner voices should work on achieving more unity and playing with more energy, especially since they open the piece. Overall, intonation was decent. Cello and inner voices should come out more at times. Viola did a great job learning the part!

I think the inner voices and cello could work on intonation and making sure to tune the harmony. The accompanying voices should work more on matching the first violin. In general, they should communicate more in order to achieve more unity.

Overall, the concert went well. I really enjoyed the experience of being concertmaster. Sleigh ride was very festive (thx @dianziyoujiann for the hat); Prokofiev and greensleeves were very exciting, especially with band.

I think that they stated together really well and had a nice sens of pulse. I think they should focus on playing out most, otherwise it was very good.

I thought that their choice of music good, since it was something different, making it very fun to listen to. I especially liked Andrew’s percussive part. They focus most on having more fun and showing more emotions when they play.
#SHS2019S10
In terms of ensemble, they did very well. I think that they should work most on balance, so other parts can shine more, rather than just the first violin. I liked the pulse and it was very enjoyable to listen to.
#SHS2019S6
I really liked the lyrical passages, since it brought out every part nicely. I think the beginning passage could have more passion. In terms of technique, intonation not bad, but still could be more polished in the high register areas. It was very exciting to listen to

Overall, since our group needs work on ensemble, rather than knowing our individual parts, we should listen to and play along with recordings (in order to familiarize ourselves with other parts), in addition to using the score.
