It was under his leadership that the Asian Peasant Coalition (APC), together with PANAP, launched the March 29 Day of the Landless in 2015 to mark the APC's founding anniversary and to launch the #NoLandNoLife campaign.
For decades now, Ka Paeng Mariano has been tirelessly working for the rights of the landless in the Philippines – as a peasant leader since Marcos dictatorship, a lawmaker representing small farmers in parliament for 9 years, & briefly as head of the agrarian reform ministry.
