A thread on how duty cases are being dealt with in Aberdeen. Very concerning given there is a statutory duty upon the Scottish Legal Aid Board to provide representation at an appearance on undertaking
As of 31st January 2022 the Faculties of Aberdeen, Banff and Peterhead alongside other Faculties have withdrawn from the duty plan. In Aberdeen and Peterhead we have been issued updated duty plans stating that PDSO will cover duty work in these three courts.

@SCTScourtstribs We are still awaiting a response to the further issues raised this morning. We remain ready and willing to help dispose of court business, but until clarity and assurances are provided, we cannot in any good conscience do so.

We are delighted at the solidarity shown by our colleagues in Glasgow. We have been given entirely unsatisfactory answers to the questions posed, and we are still refusing to conduct any business in court until adequate explanations are provided.
In solidarity with @EdinBarAssoc the executive committee of the GBA have written to every member advising not to enter court buildings or undertake teleconference/videoconference hearings this morning pending a satisfactory resolution to the issues raised below.

The police say that they were asked to do this by SCTS. Please explain why that happened.
