The #FederalReserve has crossed a milestone of sorts. For the first time since the #pandemic, its total assets have dropped under $7tn. So far tightening has been absorbed by today’s overleveraged financial system but will it continue to tighten until something breaks, like 2008?

Price retracements back to support aren’t unusual after upside breakouts. I gave that low odds for #silver, proving markets can do anything. Now we need to see support hold. Ideally this test will end in the week ahead. A weekly close above $32 will signal the uptrend is resuming

One word explains real reason for a #DebtCeiling – discipline. Once #FDR confiscated people’s #gold in 1933, discipline on money creation was eliminated. The ceiling was meant to provide discipline but doesn’t. The ceiling is always increased. Perennial #inflation is the result.

Weekly chart shows damage to #silver, which is testing support around $30, above major support at $28. #Gold did better so their ratio jumped to 89 level last seen in Sep. Gold testing support at $2600. I expect support holds to end a good year. YTD gains: gold 27% silver 24%

Watch #bonds closely. Rising yields were a big surprise to many, maybe #CentralBankers themselves. When they lowered short-term #rates & dropped their “higher for longer” mantra, #bond yields rose. Inverted yield curve & slowing #economy means #stagflation. Like the 1970s.

Here's one of my objective measures to value #gold; it’s undervalued. Like 1974 & 1980, gold won’t be overvalued until red line crosses blue line, which is presently $10,902 (assumes #CentralBanks have in their vaults the gold they claim to own; so fair value probably higher).
