Where is the Thai government in all of this? Why is it always army generals — not elected leaders — who dictate Thailand’s stance toward Cambodia? Time and again, Thailand’s foreign policy toward its neighbour has been hijacked by the military, sidelining civilian authority.
The statement made by Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of Thailand’s Second Army Region, on August 12 was more than reckless — it was a dangerous fabrication designed to ignite conflict. His claim that Cambodia “secretly planted landmines” after troop withdrawal is not supported by evidence, yet it is already being weaponised as a pretext for military aggression. This is not the language of peace. This is the language of war.

After the ceasefire agreement, Thailand military kidnapped 20 of our soldiers, took them into their territory, and punished them.
Now, only 2 have been released with unstable mental health and one another is serious injury.

They tortured our soldiers, one has k’lled, one is heavy injured, another one is mentally unstable. If it’s not torturing in human rights, I don’t know WORLD could give me any other answers
#JusiceForCambodia
They were all captured in good condition physically and mentally by YOU. You used CHEAP tactics to trick them and hold them hostage at gunpoints AFTER the ceasefire agreement reached and implemented.
They were in your country for a few days and one becomes severely injured
Let compassion lead over conflict. The world must speak up. Thailand must release our soldiers. Cambodia deserves justice.

Please, international diplomats, including organizations around the world, look at the evil actions of the Thai government. The soldiers are alive and healthy when they are captured, but when they return to their homeland, they are dead, disabled, and mentally ill. We, the people, are truly pained by such evil and dirty actions by the Thai army and the Thai government, which have violated the right to life of people around the world. Please, countries around the world, help monitor the actions of the Thai army and the Thai government.

Two of our brave Cambodian soldiers have finally been released by the Thai army, one is badly wounded, the other suffers from trauma. But this is not over. Several more of our men remain unjustly held, their fate unknown.
They were not invaders. They were defenders. Defenders of our land. Of our people.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL) is a set of rules that governs warfare or armed conflict. The primary purpose of this law is to protect individuals who are not participating in the fighting, such as civilians, the wounded, and prisoners of war.
* Geneva Convention III, Article 118: This convention governs the treatment of prisoners of war (POWs). Article 118 states that POWs must be released and repatriated without delay after the cessation of active hostilities. This is an obligation that all parties to a conflict must respect.
* Customary International Humanitarian Law, Rule 128: This body of law arises from the general practice of states and is recognized as a binding rule. Rule 128 also stipulates that POWs must be released and repatriated once a war ends. This rule is broader than Article 118 of the Geneva Convention as it also applies to individuals deprived of their liberty in non-international armed conflicts.
According to official information from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the United Nations (UN):
* Geneva Conventions: The four Geneva Conventions (including the Third Convention on POWs) have been ratified by 196 countries worldwide. This means the conventions are recognized and implemented by almost every country on the planet, making them one of the most important components of international humanitarian law.
* United Nations (UN): Currently, there are 193 member states of the United Nations. All member states have the right to participate and express their views in the General Assembly.
* Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN): ASEAN has 10 member states, including:
* Brunei
* Cambodia
* Indonesia
* Laos
* Malaysia
* Myanmar
* Philippines
* Singapore
* Thailand
* Vietnam
In summary, both the conventions and the rules share the same principle: the immediate release and repatriation of prisoners of war after an armed conflict ends. This principle is a crucial part of international humanitarian law designed to protect the human rights of captured combatants.
