Jesus affirmed the historical Flood recorded by Moses.
What did your kids (or grandkids) enjoy most about the Ark Encounter?
We find fossilized sea creatures high on the tops of major mountain ranges worldwide, showing that ocean waters once covered these sites before they rose up at the end of the global Flood.
Adam, since he lived to be 930, was almost a contemporary of Noah.
Thick sequences of rock layers in the Grand Canyon are sharply bent without breaking, demonstrating that the sediments were folded while still soft during the Flood.
The biblical Flood was a truly global event.
Noah had a wife and three sons who also had wives; all eight people were safe aboard the Ark during the global Flood.
Fall has arrived at the Ararat Ridge Zoo! 🍂 Our keepers and animals are enjoying the cooler autumn temperatures. As the seasons change, please note a few updates to our animal encounters and feeding schedule: 🥕 Junior’s Zoo Feeds: 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. (Fridays & Saturdays) 🐾 Creature Features: 1:15 p.m. & 3:15 p.m. (Daily)
Global flood legends corroborate the historicity of the biblical Flood.
Adam was only Noah’s great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandpa.
Noah’s Ark had sufficient room for all the creatures God sent to Noah.
Three-dimensional sculpting technology helped ensure anatomical accuracy and allowed the Ark Encounter artists to develop custom poses. Some were partially or fully 3D-printed, like these non-mammalian synapsids modeled after Cynognathus. A handful of dinosaur figures can be seen on the Ark, like the stegosaurs. However, not every dinosaur-looking sculpture represents a dinosaur. The figures in the third photo, for instance, depict non-dinosaurian reptiles called silesaurs.
The Bible’s dimensions for the Ark make it clear that Noah’s Ark was not a little floating bathtub.
Methuselah, Noah’s grandfather, lived 969 years
Genesis describes a global Flood that actually occurred in human history.
Aside from the bat enclosure on Deck One, the cages on Deck Two feature the largest number of fabricated animals on the Ark. Both familiar and relatively unfamiliar medium-to-large reptiles, mammals, and non-mammalian synapsids are depicted. As with the animals on Deck One, each of the figures were carefully crafted after real animals that lived at or near the time of the Flood. Ark Encounter researchers accounted for more than just your run-of-the-mill animal varieties. These are rarely-seen reconstructions of creatures like these chalicotheres, odd-toed ungulates like horses, rhinos, and tapirs. Short hindlegs and long forearms gave them a somewhat gorilla-like stance, though they resemble the unrelated giant ground sloths. Even staples of Noah’s Ark animal scenes look a bit different. Featuring a shorter neck and four ossicones, the Ark Encounter giraffes better represent known ancient varieties within the giraffe kind than do modern forms.
God established the rainbow covenant with Noah, all living creatures, and the earth.
Noah’s family tree had some big names: Adam (yes, from the Garden of Eden), Enoch (the one who didn’t die), and Methuselah (the oldest man ever recorded).
The purpose of the Ark was not to save a few animals to start a farm after the Flood but to save representatives of every kind of land animal and bird to repopulate the earth.
