Σαν σήμερα 22/10/1958, πέφτει ηρωικά μαχόμενος ο 19χρονος μαχητής της ΕΟΚΑ Τουμάζου Παναγιώτης. Γεννήθηκε στις 12 Ιουλίου 1939 στην Αμμόχωστο. Εντάχθηκε στον αγώνα το 1955, ενώ ήταν ακόμα μαθητής, σε ομάδα του σχολείου στην οποία ανήκε και ο Πετράκης Γιάλλουρος και συνεργαζόταν και με τις ομάδες του Εμπορικού Λυκείου Αμμοχώστου. Άρχισε τη δράση του με την κυκλοφορία φυλλαδίων και την αναγραφή συνθημάτων και τη συνέχισε σε ομάδες κρούσεως και ενεδρών. Το Δεκέμβριο του 1955 έλαβε μέρος σε βομβιστική επίθεση εναντίον στρατιωτικού οχήματος. Κατά την περίοδο των τουρκικών επιθέσεων, στις 20 Ιουλίου του 1958, με εντολή της Οργάνωσης επιτέθηκε μαζί με ένα συναγωνιστή του εναντίον Τούρκου πράκτορα των Άγγλων. Προδόθηκε και καταζητήθηκε, οπότε κατέφυγε σε μια ανταρτική ομάδα του τομέα Σολέας με το ψευδώνυμο "Ονήσιλος". "Τον Οκτώβριο του 1958", αφηγείται ο συναγωνιστής του Αντωνάκης Σολομώντος, "ενεδρεύαμε για δεκατρείς νύκτες στο δρόμο Κακοπετριάς-Καρβουνά, με εντολή του τομεάρχη μας να κτυπήσουμε. Η μέση τιμή της επόμενης ημέρας στο ενεργειακό χρηματιστήριο του καρτέλ, διαμορφώθηκε σήμερα στα 201,30 €/MWH - ενώ το κόστος παραγωγής ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας από τη σύγχρονη λιγνιτική μονάδα Πτολεμαΐδα 5 που «παροπλίζει» η κυβέρνηση, επειδή δεν εξυπηρετεί το καρτέλ, διαμορφώνεται μόλις στα 120 €/MWH, παρά το υψηλό κόστος ρύπων που πλησιάζει τα 90 €. Είναι λοιπόν ξεκάθαρα πιο φθηνό το ρεύμα από λιγνίτη, εκτός του ότι έχουμε δικά μας αποθέματα και δεν εισάγουμε - όπως συμβαίνει με το φυσικό αέριο που αυξάνει το εμπορικό μας έλλειμμα και το έλλειμμα τρεχουσών συναλλαγών. Τι σημαίνει εμπορικό έλλειμμα, εκτός από την εξάρτηση μας από το εξωτερικό και την αύξηση του εξωτερικού μας χρέους; Απλούστατα ότι το κάθε 1 € εμπορικό έλλειμμα, μειώνει 1 € το ΑΕΠ μας! Επομένως, ακόμη και εάν η τιμή του λιγνίτη ήταν ακριβότερη, θα μας συνέφερε να παράγουμε ρεύμα από λιγνίτη - πόσο μάλλον όταν διαθέτουμε αποθέματα 300 δις € που δεν έχει κανένα δικαίωμα καμία κυβέρνηση να τα πετάει στα σκουπίδια, ειδικά όταν χρωστάμε ως κράτος 427 δις €.
