THE ERA OF CHEAP SANCTIONED BITCOIN MINING IS ENDING Iran mined Bitcoin using heavily subsidized electricity. Licensed mining tariffs at various points were reportedly around $0.01–$0.03 per kWh, while residential power, often used for illegal mining, could be even cheaper. For comparison, industrial electricity rates in many countries range from $0.05 to $0.10+ per kWh. At peak subsidy levels, electricity-only production costs could fall to around $1,000–$2,000 per BTC, depending on hardware efficiency and network difficulty. Full all-in production costs were higher, but still often well below global averages. That price gap made Iran one of the lowest-cost Bitcoin mining jurisdictions in the world. In practice, Iran was converting natural gas and electricity directly into BTC. That BTC could be: - Accumulated - Used for international trade - Sold to access dollars and other foreign currencies Now imagine mining infrastructure gets damaged or shut down. Here’s what happens: - Global hash rate drops. - State-linked Bitcoin supply slows or stops. - Uncertainty rises, and markets sell off. We’ve seen this pattern before: war headline → bitcoin dumps → panic fades → price recovers.

🇺🇸 Arizona's SCR1033 is now headed to the House after clearing the Senate earlier this week. The resolution would pave the way for state retirement systems to evaluate digital asset ETFs like #Bitcoin. A feasibility report would be due before the next legislative session. 📜
