Il capitalismo della sorveglianza finanziato e sostenuto da Jeffrey Epstein e dall’ex primo ministro israeliano Ehud Barak punta a sviluppare ed esportare in tutto il mondo tecnologie di controllo digitale tipicamente impiegate dai regimi totalitari e dalle dittature militari. Presentato come uno strumento indispensabile per la sicurezza nazionale, questo modello finisce, nella tesi qui sostenuta, per perseguire l’obiettivo opposto: svuotare l’idea democratica di libertà e legare i governi occidentali a Israele attraverso una rete di ricatti incrociati. Epstein ha rappresentato il primo collegamento concreto tra Barak e Palantir. Nella telefonata registrata in cui ne discutono, entrambi pronunciano in modo errato i nomi «Thiel» e «Palantir»: un dettaglio che suggerisce come Epstein stesse introducendo l’argomento per la prima volta. Epstein riuscì a entrare in contatto con lui qualche anno dopo, tra il 2013 e il 2014. Per consolidare il rapporto con il cofondatore di Palantir, mise a frutto anche il proprio capitale: tra il 2014 e il 2015 convogliò circa quaranta milioni di dollari nei fondi speculativi di Thiel. I contatti proseguirono fino alla morte di Epstein. Oggi Palantir fornisce all’esercito israeliano tecnologie di intelligenza artificiale impiegate nelle operazioni a Gaza: un contribuisce e facilita il genocidio. Gaza e’ stata descritta come un «laboratorio» dagli stessi dirigenti dell’azienda. Un suo ingegnere di Palantir ha dichiarato pubblicamente che la Striscia ha rappresentato un banco di prova ideale. Nell’aprile 2026, Palantir ha pubblicato un manifesto che delinea una visione del mondo come campo di battaglia permanente. In questa prospettiva, la democrazia multietnica viene rappresentata come una minaccia alla civiltà occidentale e come incompatibile con la libertà: secondo Alex Karp, amministratore delegato dell’azienda, che ha pubblicamente rivendicato l’impiego delle proprie tecnologie per uccidere persone. Il cerchio si chiude: tecnologie di sorveglianza e controllo già utilizzate sui palestinesi e sui libanesi vengono esportate, estese e normalizzate su scala globale. Il sistema costruito per anni da Epstein negli USA . In entrambi i casi, la raccolta di informazioni sulle vulnerabilità personali diventa una leva di potere. «sorveglianza» assume un doppio significato: controllo e possibilità di ricatto.

Immense suffering. A major war, a suffocating siege, our situation is unenviable due to the accumulation of suffering, problems, and the dire humanitarian situation. We are the people most in need of respite, rest, peace, and time to heal our wounds. We are the most oppressed people, having endured immense suffering. We are the people who least want war and who most strive to avoid any problems, fighting, or wars. We are not fighting this war with Saudi Arabia because we want to, but because we are forced to. We are compelled because we have no other choice. The world will continue to watch us die from disease and poverty. No one will have mercy on us, and even those who do will be powerless to help us. ... This war was imposed upon us against our will. This war is our only hope to end the injustice and suffering inflicted upon us. We will not accept half-measures, we will not accept any truce, we will not accept a peace in which we die under siege... There is no easy path for us to take. It is either a path of fighting and sacrifice, where we seize our rights and freedom, or a path of siege and starvation, where we await the mercy of our enemy while we slowly die.
