(1/2) June is Commercial Vehicle Safety Month. So far this year, Alberta Sheriffs have conducted more than 7,000 Level I and II commercial vehicle inspections which are instrumental for enforcing vehicle and driver safety.

Every day, police officers in Alberta rise to the complex and growing demands of law enforcement and public safety in our province. National Police Week, May 12-18, provides an opportunity to acknowledge – and thank – the men and women who make Alberta a safer place.

Over the long weekend, Alberta’s Sheriff Highway Patrol check stops and mobile roving patrols took 73 impaired drivers off the road. Many thanks to Alberta motorists who prioritized safety and made responsible choices this holiday!

In 2023, Sheriff Highway Patrol conducted 12,154 inspections on commercial vehicles. The SHP has 17 commercial vehicle inspection stations on major transportation corridors. Enforcement helps keep people & goods moving safely on our highways. Learn more: bit.ly/3Hrm4if
