the SEC received many comment letters asking if a “communications protocol” meant that decentralized exchanges would need to register, and the in april 2023 the SEC wrote a lengthy response mostly saying “yes” in every circumstance. read in the federal register here: federalregister.gov/documents/2023…
For those that didn’t stick around until the end of the @FinancialCmte hearing today, this exchange between @USRepMikeFlood and @PrometheumInc CEO Aaron Kaplan is an absolute must-watch. Flood explicitly lays out why Prometheum’s claims that their SPBD approval is evidence of a clear path to regulatory compliance are absolute *nonsense* — and, rather, their inability to trade any widely-traded assets (BTC, ETH) is exemplary of why #McHenryThompson is needed for actual regulatory clarity. 🔥
last week i sat down with @twobitidiot to talk about crypto policy in the USA and learn about ryan’s launch of the digital freedom alliance @DFA2024 this was a really interesting and timely discussion on @galaxy__brains galaxy.com/research/podca…

guys, yes blackrock filed for their bitcoin ETF, and that’s news the rest not new info • wisdom tree and invesco both filed in 2021 • fidelity been deep for years • EDX was reported 12 and 9 months ago bullish, but let’s not let clickbait accounts make everyone crazy pls
had to reshare the rap cuz of $30k full rap from a great apr 14 episode w/ @udiWertheimer below and ep here>> galaxy.com/research/podca…
a million stares when i’m breaking vertebrae / the nerds are doing great cuz we’re breaking $30k #bitcoin
Bitcoin ETF musings…I’ve seen the analysis that the Blackrock inclusion of surveillance sharing agreements is the novel touch that will allow them to crack the code...not a lawyer, but I’m a bit skeptical...
check out @kelly_carlin’s good stuff! we miss your dad, kelly!
In honor of this auspicious week of the Solstice & the anniversary of my dad's death, I just posted my favorite essay about a special moment we had... on my SuBsTaCk. kellycarlin.substack.com
i like to think george is at a 4-top in heaven with hunter thompson, robin williams, and anthony bourdain
george carlin died 15 years ago today carlin was one of humanity’s great comics, critics, and poets, an incisive analyst and true master of language RIP king 🙏🏼
imagine approving a leveraged futures ETF — highly risky product — because the “underlying market” (btc future) is “regulated” even tho that “regulated market” derives its prices from… “unregulated” spot crypto exchanges lmao 🤔
The 2x bitcoin ETF $BITX has become effective, scheduled to launch Tuesday. I was doubtful it would happen but looks like it’s official. Could this be early sign of SEC lightening up? After $BITO launch I believe they made earlier 2x filers withdraw
I have no idea what the outcome of the rebellion/coup/civil war in Russia will be, but I will say that BTC is one of the few liquid “macro” assets that trades over the weekend and it is oddly steady given what this could mean for the war in Ukraine 👀🤷♀️🫤
