Congratulations to my friend and #Liferay colleague Ray Augé (@rotty3000) on becoming a #Java Champion! Well deserved! I personally owe him a debt of gratitude for everything he has done to make CDI work with #OSGi and #Portlet 3.0 -- and also "thin" #JSF portlets in Liferay.

I have been merging commits from @stiemannkj1 that make it possible to deploy a #JSF Web Application Archive (WAR) #portlet as thin #OSGi Web Application Bundle (WAB). The results are amazing! The CDI Applicant demo is down from 10.5MB to 65KB which is a 99.36% reduction in size!
