I've scouted and hired more people (1,000+) than most will in their entire careers. I'm convinced 99% of companies are doing it wrong. Here are 5 hiring beliefs most people will call crazy: 1. You cannot train urgency You can teach workflow or technical tools in a few weeks. You cannot teach someone to care about being top 1%. People are either obsessed with output or they are just passing time. 2. Resumes and age are useless A degree tells you someone is good at sitting in class. A teenager who ran a merch store or grew a YouTube channel has 10x more leverage. Real shipped projects beat credentials every time. 3. Outsized returns on small project show instinct A person pulling 50k views on a weird video about a side project show they understand distribution. Most companies scroll right past because the profile looks small, but that ratio proves they know how to hold attention from zero. 4. Unhinged outreach beats applications The best hires never submit a standard application. They find a back door, remake your content, send an unsolicited facetime call, and force you to respond. 5. Only hire people who are consistent with no $ on the line Anyone can show up when a paycheck hits every two weeks. The real killers were posting/building every day for two years to 12 followers when they made zero dollars. Corporate HR would filter every single one of my best hires. That’s exactly why they win.
@m_abdelmukaram @shownmedia @Callsnitch hahahah
@tohriee 😭😭😭
My motion in 2020 was ridiculous
Only reply to this if you actually support me and aren't just using me to get into devour 😂
@chuckmoroze @Enderman you don't know the legend of enderman?
I love NYC pt 2
I love NYC Like what do you mean I got free tickets for John Oliver
@Enderman at least try to scam me if you're going to do that tho 😭
@WeirdlyWiredAj @shownmedia Come up with bad shit, crazy ideas. That's what'll go viral. "Just post consistently" is obviously pretty bad advice. You want to either attach yourselves to ideas that are already viral or come up with wild ideas like this: x.com/maximusgrave/s…
Say hi to Sidehoe The first AI assistant to manage your roster Try it now: sidehoe.chat
@WeirdlyWiredAj @shownmedia Make your own side projects. Have a bunch of shots on goal. The idea matters much more than the execution of it. Come up with crazy ideas, post about them, and try to go viral. If you go viral, you'll get attention, and you'll get any job you want.
Really, just download Wispr Flow and then go use your keyboard. Absolutely need to. Right now, I'm writing this reply with Wispr Flow. I'm not going to edit at all. I'm just going to press the reply button once, and done. There are a couple ways this obviously speeds up: 1/ You talk much faster than you type. 2/ It lets you multitask better because you can be looking at one thing and reading it while you're saying something, because it uses two different parts of your brain. If you try to type, it's using different cognitive skills than reading that with your eyes.
If you aren't doing most of your work with voice-to-text You are SO far behind...
every single article i've written with 1M+ views wasn't actually written by me... i just used my phone to dictate it because the truth is... your brain doesn't think in text it never did, it thinks in connections, in patterns, in half-formed ideas that make perfect sense until
@WeirdlyWiredAj @shownmedia As in, you are a fresh grad, or you're trying to hire fresh grads?
@mattepstein @shownmedia Only apply if ur a viral nerd
@batcz I see, there’s a big market in selling to friendly’s tho (see YC)!
Farza can pull this off because he spent 10 years learning how to entertain an audience on camera. Telling the average founder they “can figure it out” is dangerous advice. Being good at content takes thousands of reps. Am I wrong?
There’s a misconception that a successful launch video needs to cost tens of thousands of dollars and feel like a high production commercial. But @FarzaTV has a different approach. Farza is the founder of @heyclicky and previously built Buildspace, one of the largest online
