@hamradio2dot0 @UsaYaesu Good portable satellite rig, then?

@RiaJairam No, and I’m glad because it would have been enough of a barrier to stop me from initially taking the exam. After a few years on the air it finally sounded appealing so I learned and it has been a blast!

@VE6LK @N2NWK_Del Honda lawnmower and snowblower both start up second pull after their respective offseasons. Generators must be the same.

@K9ZNEtienne DM me if you want a sked QSO for UT. I confirm on LoTW and QRZ. Can do SSB, CW, or FT8. Unless you’re of the persuasion that planning like that is cheating. Good luck!

My wire antenna is hanging between two 50-60 ft trees in my yard. The wind today has me worried that my precious antenna supports might fall. Maybe I’ll guy-line the tree like a tower 😛 #hamRadio #amateurRadio #HF

Just ran my first twofer #POTA activation from K-5950 (This is the Place Heritage Park) and K-4578 (Pony Express National Historic Trail). Tough to find an open frequency with ARRL DX CW contest going on! @POTAspots #HamRadio #AmateurRadio #CW #QRP

Well that explains why the bands suddenly went quiet. Guess I’ll skip the POTA activation this afternoon.

@tuftelndotnet @POTAspots Actually did not use a tuner. I need to trim the wire a bit more to get 40 and 20 dialed in, at which point I may need a tuner on 15. My tested SWR with today’s deployment was about 2:1 on 40 and 20. My SWR was under 1.5:1 across the CW portion of 15 today though.

Quick #POTA activation from Fort Douglas K-5926 this afternoon on 15m. The new TufteIn EFHW antenna worked well! Thanks hunters! #HamRadio #AmateurRadio #CW #QRP @POTAspots

typo - the antenna is a "TufteLn" 9:1 EFHW. Thanks @tuftelndotnet for the solid build quality!

@MegMonk Anything true HEPA rated for the square footage you’re looking to use it in.

@HamRadioBasics I was torn between the KX2 and 705. I opted for the 705 because the extra features and waterfall were more appealing than the saved weight/size. I’ll use it traveling, not just hiking. Wish the 705 had a tuner, but I mostly use resonant antennas anyway.

@K0LWC QRP rig! Can’t decide between the Elecraft KX2 and Icom 705. Do I go ultra lean or full featured? It’ll be my travel radio plus maybe a handful of SOTAs.
