Worth reading Superintelligence by Bostrom. We need to be super careful with AI. Potentially more dangerous than nukes.
I’ve been sounding the alarm on AI for a long time
@TalulahRiley I’ve seen quite a few technologies develop, but none with this level of risk. AGI is significantly higher risk than nuclear weapons, in my opinion. Super smart humans have trouble imagining something vastly smarter than themselves.

Dario is right
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our

Technology is the most important advantage in war
I recently went through a translation of Musashi’s Book of Five Rings. The introduction chronicled the evolution of swordsmanship and martial arts in general from pragmatic battlefield necessities to sports, historical curiosities, and hobbies. It was interesting to hear how in
True, solar energy over time will round up to 100% of energy harnessed (obviously)
On Labor Day, the charging peak load was 116 cars plugged in at once, at 11.4 MW. All electrical loads will eventually transition to solar + storage. The giant fusion reactor in the sky is free.

More than twice as long as they clapped for Stalin in Gulag Archipelago!
The Gaza documentary “NAZA” earned a massive 24.5-minute #VeniceFilmFestival ovation as the crowd cheered and waved Palestinian flags. This marks the longest-ever standing ovation at Venice, beating the 22-minute ovation for “The Voice of Hind Rajab” last year, and perhaps the

Tesla self-driving is awesome
I bought a Tesla in July and have basically retired from driving. If you can afford to you should too. It’s the most dangerous thing you do every day and Tesla’s robots are better at it.
