Today we're celebrating #PublicRadioMusicDay and the stations that champion local and independent artists every day. Let's pass the American Music Fairness Act, which protects public radio and asks corporate broadcasters to finally pay artists.

Please always consider doing your research, so that when you comment, you actually sound like you know what you’re talking about. ASCAP collects royalties for writers and publishers. That has nothing to do with “performance royalties”, meaning Elvis never wrote a song and therefore was never paid when his songs were actually played on AM and FM radio., next time, Do research.

.@randytravis songs like “Forever and Ever, Amen” and “On the Other Hand” helped build country radio…yet AM/FM radio still doesn’t pay the artists who recorded them a cent for that airplay. His wife, Mary Travis, testified last year that it’s time to do right by the artists. Pass the American Music Fairness Act.

We're working hard to pass the American Music Fairness Act. The artists who earn $0 when their songs play on AM/FM radio work just as hard, and they deserve to be paid for it. Send Congress a letter: musicfirst.quorum.us/campaign/16600…

🤠 This Country Music Month we tip our hat to the history and artists of one the classic American genres. But even the biggest country legends, from @GeorgeStrait to @mirandalambert, don't get paid when AM/FM radio plays their songs. Stand with them and tell Congress to pass the American Music Fairness Act.

Well if that’s true, you can afford to pay artists. Right now, artists earn $0 for AM/FM airplay. Send your members of Congress a letter today: musicfirst.quorum.us/campaign/16600…

We <3 paying recording artists for their work… Radio giants, like @iHeartRadio, make billions off music they didn't write and don't own, all while the recording artists make $0. Let’s change that. #NoRadioWithoutRoyalties

NEW: Senator @MarshaBlackburn asks @uspto Director John A. Squires about the American Music Fairness Act during today’s Senate Judiciary hearing. It’s time for Congress to send this bill to @realDonaldTrump’s desk so every artist gets paid for the work they do.

Radio corporations have profited off artists' music without paying them a dime, and it's the session players, studio musicians, and backup singers behind the scenes who feel it most. That’s why we’re fighting for artists’ rights. It’s time to pass the American Music Fairness Act.

Broadcasters rake in millions using artists' music without paying them. And now they want Congress to force every new car user to buy their product. Congress: tell radio to pay artists, compete in the market, and quit begging Washington for special favors. @CTATech letter ⬇️

Spotify pays artists. Apple Music pays artists. YouTube, SiriusXM, and TikTok all pay artists. AM/FM radio doesn't. Congress alone can close the radio loophole by passing the American Music Fairness Act.
