I'm a carpenter by trade. I've been at it for about 20 years and have been running my own businesses for 15. There have been slow times over the years, a few worse than others, but I have never seen a downturn like I've noticed over the last year. It's not just carpentry. I speak to different trades daily and hear the same story from all of them, work is slow. Material costs are through the roof, people don't have the disposable income they used to. This problem is only getting worse. On top of already having to compete for scarce work, we are now going to have to compete with illegal aliens? This is all by design. Canada’s top abortion rights activist let the cat out of the bag today regarding the real reason behind Justin Trudeau’s assault on our country’s fantastic pro-life pregnancy resource centres. It’s not that these centres aren’t transparent. They are. The vast majority of them make it crystal clear on their websites that they don’t offer and refer for abortion. No, the real reason for the assault is that most of these centres, according to Joyce Arthur (pictured below), Executive Director of the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada, are “actually Christian ministries that promote traditional sexual morality and criticize abortion.” Saving intimacy for marriage and respecting life since it is created in the image of God are, for Arthur, “questionable practices.” You see, the abortion industry hates Christians. They hate that we worship a God who tells his people to “choose life” (Deut. 30:19). They hate human life created in the image of God. They hate organizations that exist to help women so that they can make the empowering decision to choose life for their precious children. The Trudeau Liberals are now putting forward legislation attacking pro-life organizations that marches to the drumbeat set by abortion activists like Arthur. This is evil and must be stopped. I volunteer at a crisis pregnancy center in Toronto. I pick up baby clothes donations from donors, and I deliver diapers, formula, clothes, and toys to single mothers who've had a crisis pregnancy and choose to keep their babies. Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government want to take away our charitable status. This government is an abomination.

We've just learned that the Liberals will vote tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 30) on a bill to crack down on pro-life pregnancy centres. CLC National President Jeff Gunnarson is calling on CPC leader @PierrePoilievre and the entire @CPC_HQ caucus to oppose this bill. "This legislation is nothing more than evidence of a Liberal vendetta against pro-life organizations that offer women more choices other than abortion, such as adoption and parenting," said Gunnarson in a letter to Mr. Poilievre published in full below. "With this proposed legislation, the Liberal Party is once again reaffirming that it is not the party of ‘choice’ but the party of abortion as the only choice," he added.   "I respectfully urge you and the entire Conservative party to oppose this legislation," he concluded.
