I make manifest @sandtiny

Saw this on one of my Whatsapp groups. EKEDC IN DESPERATION _____ I installed an 18kW solar power system at my property in Lekki Phase 1, relegating EKEDC supply to a backup status. Since then, I have been having more frequent visits from personnel of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), coming to check my prepaid meter. On one of those visits, the EKEDC team stood watching the meter for motion to indicate consumption. When the meter wasn't moving, they called me to say they suspected I had bypassed the meter. I told them I had enough solar power for my daytime needs and only used their supply as a backup for the dark hours. To prove this to them, I switched on my inverter bypass for about 2 minutes so my consumption would be from EKEDC. They saw the meter rotating normally. They were visibly upset and one of them mumbled something like "This ọ̀gá no wan gree us chop". They left. Today (19-Oct-2026), three of them came to my premises with a notice of disconnection. The last time I loaded an EKEDC token was in July 2026 and I still had ample units left. When I asked why they would disconnect me, they said the reason was "LOR" (Loss of Revenue). They said my slow consumption indicates a faulty meter and I had to pay them ₦112,606 for loss of revenue. I told them my meter was not faulty and that they could test it if they wanted. The lady said they were losing revenue and they had to make up for it. I didn't know whether to laugh or to be angry. I have no intention of paying EKEDC a dime for its loss of revenue due to my taking steps to protect my interest. But, I share this story for all who are investing in solar power to know that the DisCos are now desperate. They now have "Loss of Revenue" as a reason for your disconnection from their supply. It is simply that they are not making enough money from you. I am waiting for EKEDC to disconnect me from their grid before I lodge a formal complaint to the regulatory authority. We are in interesting times in Nigeria! Raphael Awoseyin 19-Oct-2026

Enough time has passed and I think we need to talk about this. Sometime this week, elites gathered at Eko Hotel for a celebration, but just outside that very same venue (at night), you’ll see a plethora of young, vibrant and able-bodied young men, many in my age group, running after exotic cars and pseudo big men hoping that someone will ‘bless them’. This is the everyday reality of young men in Lagos today. There is little to no gratification for honest work anymore and the only hope people now have is sycophancy, illegal dealings, or turning to social media to chase clout. This is what puts food on the table. Meanwhile we are told the state has recorded “tremendous growth”. So where exactly is this growth? Someone point us to it? The leaders we elect determine the outcome of our future. I turned 32 last week, the age many of our leaders were already established by. I've lived in Lagos all my life, I'm a Lagosian, and there is nothing to be happy about in the current state of things. I don’t know why we are all pretending. Men in their 30s cannot afford their own rent, and the government is encouraging young workers to be prudent and live with their parents until things look up. Grown men in their 30s! I have witnessed, and lived through four different governors, with a fifth incoming, yet all of them have been led by one single ideology - one man’s vision. The Lagos we know today can be credited to that vision, and I’m not talking about Lekki, the coastal road or the Island. There are 20 local governments in Lagos. If you’re reading this from any of these areas, step outside and answer this question honestly - are you happy with the way the environment you’re in looks? Are you happy with what you see? Unfortunately for the leaders in Lagos, there is no previous administration to blame. Depending on how you choose to look at it, things have only gotten worse. At one point in my life, I bought 25 litres of fuel for under ₦3,000. Today it's about ₦35,000, and with no steady electricity, I buy that twice a week just to run my generator. I can't imagine how millions of people who aren't earning enough have been affected. And yes, millions more Nigerians have been pushed into abject poverty in recent years. The next time I celebrate my birthday on a weekend, I'll be 35. By then, I'll be a father, and a new administration will be halfway through its term. There is no glimmer of hope that things will get better in the next 4 years under the same government (judging by history) and I can’t help but wonder. If I can’t provide a better life for my family and kids, what will I tell them the reason is? This is not a partisan post, but we need to start thinking about our future. Politicians will tell you what you want to hear, not what you deserve and until we are able to demand better, we will keep getting empty promises. The life we live now is not the life we deserve, and with all the resources we have, we truly deserve better. I can’t tell you who to vote for, but don’t expect change if you’re voting for continuation.

He kept his church open during COVID. He rallied 1 million Christians on Oct 27 to stop anti-biblical laws. He led the "Save Korea" movement across 22 cities. Because of this, my father, Pastor Son Hyun-bo, became their biggest target. The result? Before any final verdict and without bail, he was thrown into a 2.5-foot-wide solitary cell full of mold. But as he has been saying: "I am not afraid of that cell. What I fear is churches that have learned to be silent." This short video reveals how South Korea's government is criminalizing faith and freedom of speech. When free nations go silent, the enemies pressuring churches worldwide lose all restraint.

Canada and Australia have issued travel advisories warning their citizens travelling to Nigeria to take serious precautions regarding food and drinks, including risks associated with unsafe food and water, adulterated alcohol, and methanol poisoning. The growing concerns around the safety and quality of consumable products in Nigeria should be taken very seriously. The level of fake and substandard products in the country is at an all-time high, and NAFDAC is contributing significantly to this menace.

I went to the @ArikAirlineNg counter in MM1 yesterday. You first have to have your luggage weighed. After weighing it, they’ll give you a piece of paper showing you have excess luggage, if you do. From there, you’ll go to the check-in counter to check in. At the check-in counter, they’ll give you another piece of paper and ask you to take it back to the weighing counter. From the weighing counter, they will look at the paper and ask you to go across the hall to pay to a cashier. After that, the cashier will give you two other pieces of paper and ask you to take them back to the weighing counter. After the weighing counter confirms payment, they will send you back to the check-in counter to collect your boarding pass. I asked them what would have happened if I had had mobility problems. I told them that civil service no do reach like this and that I didn’t understand why Arik needed to inconvenience passengers this much simply because they don’t trust their staff. They stared at me blankly. I couldn’t be too harsh on them because they were just doing what they were asked to do. It is why some of us are often irked by the arrogance of some who believe that everything in the private sector is superior to the public sector. Federal Ministry of Arik.

My day has been disrupted. We cannot continue to excuse and ignore the irresponsibility and crass impunity of @flyairpeace in this country. Mr Allen Onyema possibly believes that because he has the largest fleet of aircraft, and his company occasionally intervenes in the repatriation of stranded Nigerians aboard, that gives him the latitude to take passengers for granted endlessly. I am scheduled to appear in court in Enugu State this morning for a case that is slated for definite hearing. I woke up by 4:30 AM and got to MM1 at about 5:50AM hoping to join the 6:45 AM flight with Air Peace. I already checked in last night. I became suspicious when Air Peace called for only passengers who were supposed to fly to Enugu and Owerri yesterday, while passengers scheduled to depart today were asked to wait. Apparently, they cancelled yesterday’s flight to Enugu. Air Peace kept us on the line for about an hour before their staff came and casually told us that the flight has been delayed till 4:50 PM. At 2:01 AM today, Air Peace sent a second reminder to passengers, despite knowing that the flight was not going to depart as scheduled. It is sickening that this airline has persisted in its poor service delivery despite routine complaints by passengers. The regulators of the aviation industry are complicit in the impunity of Air Peace. The Minister of Aviation, @fkeyamo, has been doing PR for this airline instead of holding them accountable. @NigeriaCAA and @FAAN_Official have demonstrated that they’re incapable of tackling the arrogance of this airline. My client’s fate is now uncertain because of the irresponsibility of Air Peace. I met two learned colleagues who were equally billed to travel on the same flight. One of them also has a hearing this morning in Enugu. Unfortunately , the two other airlines that fly to Enugu from Lagos (United Nigeria and Enugu Air) only have afternoon flights today. I lost sound sleep, wasted my resources on flights and taxis (by the way, I already booked my return flight with United Nigeria slated for 3:20 PM today), and I am going to miss a sensitive court appearance. Official data published few ago by NCAA revealed that Air Peace delayed 71% of its flights in August 2026. According to NCAA, Air Peace recorded 1,330 delays out of 1,864 flights, representing about 71 percent. No sanctions were imposed. No country that is serious about economic development will condone such ineptitude.

Good day. How does one get a meter for a building (freshly built) for the first time, and he meets 319k bill on it, and your team says it is for the previous occupant. Where you charging the bushes light? @IkejaElectric @ieServe Word is on the street that your officers help people to wipe off their debts by pushing it to dormant accounts like this. Check your DM, cos I seem ready for you guys.
