You have to have a National Insurance number in the UK, to be able to work. So we do not need digital ID to make sure that ineligible people cannot work. Just stop giving ineligible people National Insurance IDs. Simples.

Starmer's dangerous plan to proceed with a digital ID scheme must be opposed by everyone who cares about freedom. I wrote about this in June (link at end of 🧵) but in brief:

Not one political party had compulsory digital ID in its manifesto at last year's general election. Not one person voted for it.
I will not be supporting this. Tony Blair has been pushing this agenda for more than two decades, always using one excuse or another to justify it. It's never been fully implemented - and we must make sure it's stopped this time too.
