One of the best things to possess as a Software Engineer is confidence. So much of the job is being able to complete tasks you have no idea how to do and having confidence in yourself can make all the difference. Take on problems, solve them, gain confidence, repeat.

It's natural to have self doubt, when you set ambitious goals. Being surrounded by people who also are equally or more ambitious and are working consistently towards a it, replaces the emotion of self doubt with confidence. Common beliefs are self fulfilling prophecies.

Employee onboarding experience is too messed up. While most companies do try to do an orientation, they miss out on integration. How included one feels during first few weeks of their job can determine their outlook and impact on the company over complete tenure.

Engineering is really just failing over and over and over. As soon as you get something right, you move on to another Really Hard Problem. It took me longer than I’d like to admit to understand that it’s like that for everyone, and not just me. You’ve got this.
