After every catastrophe, and this certainly is, we have to ask “what is important today”. Today, we pray our leader has a complete and speedy recovery and that the left turns off the rhetoric for just a brief moment. They tried to keep him off the ballot, to imprison him, to invite over 9 million illegal immigrants to out vote him, and now they tried to assassinate him. Our side should do everything legally possible to support President Trump and his cause. Nothing is more undemocratic than every attempt they have made to keep President Trump out of office. It’s time we got back to the values that this country holds.

PART 2 In the Catholic Church, I have the sacraments, consistent sacramental theology, the traditional doctrines of justification, apostolic succession, transubstantiation, papal primacy, and purgatory. I can go to any Catholic parish in the world and find a pastor there who has a legitimate claim to possessing a divine mission to preach the Gospel and administer the sacraments. Infallible teaching authority isn’t just a thing of the past, but rather an active reality in the Church. Even when papal infallibility is being pushed to its limits today, the intra-Catholic theological dialogue this is causing is developing our understanding of ecclesial authority in a way that EO and Protestants could only dream of. Believe it or not, theological development is a good and sometimes necessary thing, especially when you have your own messy post-schism history (including the present day) that needs to be explained. The difference between Catholicism and Protestantism/EO on the matter of theological development is that, whereas the former’s developments will have an actual impact on her teaching and credibility for all time, the latter’s developments can (and will) just be forgotten and discarded by the next generation without batting an eye. Yes, things don’t look good in the Catholic Church right now, I can definitely agree with that. On the surface, it doesn’t seem like the Church is the divine and infallible institution she claims to be. However, when we just look at the world today, and history in general, it also doesn’t seem like the product of an all powerful and benevolent God. The Sovereign Lord doesn’t initially seem like the kind of God who would actively allow children to die torturous deaths, or anyone to suffer indescribable horror for that matter. At face value, the atheist paradigm seems better at accounting for our experience of the fallen world. However, when you actually start trying to make sense of an atheistic paradigm, when you get past the surface and see what’s really there underlying that philosophy, it’s completely incoherent. Atheists can’t even account for why the world exists, much less why it exists with conscious beings who are even capable of having qualitative experiences like suffering. Only theism can do this, hence why it is rational despite appearances to the contrary. In much the same way, while Catholicism may seem absurd at face value, and alternatives seem more compelling, once you start trying to make one of those other systems work, you come to realize that looks are deceiving. Just as naturalism cannot give a coherent account of the world, so too are non-Catholic sects incapable of coherently maintaining the Christian faith, even though they often appear to at first glance. Protestantism may seem like it better accounts for our experience of a divided Christendom, but it cannot even account for its own existence, severing itself, as it does, from the historic Church and the historic hierarchy. EO likewise may outwardly appear more ancient and beautiful, but it cannot account for its own history, contradicting the very “papal ecclesiology” it consented to during the first millennium. Thus, even in the midst of horrifying scandal, and seeming falsifications, the Catholic Church alone stands as the heir of the Christian faith, and our Lord Jesus’ divine mission to preach the Gospel unto the ends of the earth. That’s why I’m Catholic, and that’s why I’ll remain Catholic.”
