🥚 #WORLDEGG DAY 2026 | Every Egg Counts for a Healthier Generation! 🇷🇼 On this World Egg Day, Heza Initiative celebrates the power of nutrition in building healthier children, stronger families, and a brighter future for Rwanda. For Heza Initiative, eggs represent more than food. They represent an opportunity to fight childhood stunting, improve dietary diversity, and help every child grow, learn, and reach their full potential. Since the launch of Rwanda’s "One Egg per Child, Every Day” campaign in 2022, we have continued to champion the importance of including eggs in young children’s diets as part of a balanced and diverse diet. Eggs provide high-quality protein and essential nutrients that support children’s growth and development. Rwanda has made encouraging progress. According to the Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey, stunting among children under five declined from 33% in 2020 to 27% in 2025. This is a significant step forward, but it also reminds us that the fight is far from over. While the egg campaign has helped raise awareness and promote better feeding practices, this national progress reflects the collective efforts of many nutrition, health, agriculture, and community-based interventions. Our call is clear: let us sustain and strengthen the initiative. We call upon the Government of Rwanda, development partners, the private sector, farmers, egg producers, civil society organisations, community health workers, parents, and all stakeholders to renew their commitment to the fight against childhood stunting. Let us invest in community nutrition education, make nutritious foods more accessible and affordable, support local egg producers, and empower families to adopt healthy feeding practices. Together, we can turn nutrition awareness into lasting action in every household and community. At Heza Initiative, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow well, and no child should be left behind because of preventable malnutrition. This World Egg Day, let us do more than celebrate the egg. Let us strengthen our partnerships, sustain our commitment, and accelerate our collective efforts to end childhood stunting in Rwanda. 🥚 One Egg. Better Nutrition. Healthier Children. A Stronger Rwanda. #WORLDEGGDay #HezaInitiative #OneEggPerChildEveryDay #EndStunting #ChildNutrition #NutritionForAll #Rwanda
