ALL THE TIME
Woke up thinking about Earl Sweatshirt and Solange rapping Wintertime
Much love
This is Ty Baisden - one of the music industry's most brilliant minds & the operator behind Brent Faiyaz's massive independent career. Here are some of my favorite takeaways from our recent conversation:
@BrianZisook Only way that i can see it
I promise u working in the music business is one of the most scamming , emotional, none backbone things i will ever be a part of . Once Im out im going into screenwriting becuz imma tell all the storys of all these capper/fakers i experienced in this sh*t
Faxs
Even the robots gonna get this wrk
If you don't know the music business you should get fined until you get educated. All this google out here and ppl still be out here being dumb
Only business where the inexperienced/uneducated be leading the room. I truly be lost. I work very hard to keep it G. Hahahaha.
Faxs
I listen to a lot of music daily, and honestly, very few artists represent their real lives through their art. It’s all fabricated and doesn’t reflect the current times we live in. Then we wonder why it isn’t connecting. It’s because you’re lying every day. Just be real.
My dawg working

Robert Henry Jr. (1)* Washington Commanders 22 yards
@iamstillpunch Stan will stalk you. Be careful
Ppl literally forget that music biz success comes out of a COMMUNITY of creatives. The artist is the FACE. Don’t get lost and think the artist is the sole engine of the success. There is ALOT that has to happen to BIRTH a successful artist in music. Smh
Trained By Jesus open.substack.com/pub/thecolture…
Now streamers .... them humans that film 10 to 15 hours per day every single day? They are outworking everyone. Outside of no private life
Muaic artist play a role in the community if success just like the producer, manager, booking agent, label, marketing, business manager, etc etc.
Especially when the music artist isnt even producing and writing the song at a 100% ... not playing all the instruments during the live show... not designing the marketing plan... not putting up the money ... not incorporating the LLC ... no hiring & training the team to support
This concept that it is impossible for a manager to work harder than their music client is nuts. Yall literally have no clue what a "real" manager has to do to help a artist pop off. Tiktok has only been around since 2019 .... music managers have been around way before tiktok
@dogsandgods @BrianZisook @youngrallahguap Never said that but lets do this. Name 5 successful music artist who has been successful long term without a manager. I can definitely name managers who were successful before working with music artist. Working hard is irrelevant if you dont make it lol. U just chasing ur tail
“Ain’t no enabling in this world, brother. You’ve got to pick somebody’s pocket and take their job.” A relationship with #Bills assistant Jay Valai got Kani Walker in the door as an undrafted free agent. But Walker’s serious push to be the fourth cornerback is happening on his own merit. niagara-gazette.com/sports/bills-r…
