Today, ISF partners, including Somaliland Y-PEER, participated in an introductory meeting jointly organized by the Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs (MOLSAF) and ISF, held at the Ministry's office. The meeting provided an opportunity for partner organizations to introduce their respective projects and share updates on key aspects, including project objectives, major activities, target locations, beneficiaries, and implementation progress, where applicable. The meeting also served as an important platform for strengthening coordination, collaboration, and information sharing between MOLSAF and ISF partners. Through strengthened partnerships and collective efforts, ISF partners are committed to contributing to three key programme outcomes: ✅ Communities abandon harmful practices and violence against women and girls: Preventing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), eliminating female genital mutilation (FGM), and transforming harmful social norms. ✅ Women have the ability and power to generate and control income and assets: Advancing women's economic empowerment, financial independence, sustainable livelihoods, and participation in the green economy. ✅ Civil society promotes women's rights: Strengthening women-led and grassroots organizations, supporting advocacy, and enhancing civil society's capacity to influence policies and decisions that advance women's rights. Yesterday, Somaliland Y-PEER Executive Director Mohamed Dama attended an event marking the International Week of Deaf People, organized by the Somaliland Deaf Organization. Somaliland Y-PEER has a close and ongoing collaboration with the Somaliland Deaf Organization, particularly in promoting the inclusion, participation, and rights of people with disabilities and other vulnerable and underserved groups. The event provided an important opportunity to strengthen partnership, raise awareness about the challenges faced by Deaf people, and reaffirm the importance of ensuring equal access to information, services, education, employment, and community participation.
