The fourth will be a technical post about me setting up a pipeline to turn obsidian MD files into published blog posts using Hugo. My fifth will be about why I haven't written the first essay yet.
I'm going to start writing long-form. My first essay will be about why I'm going to write essays. Then I'll write my more organized thoughts about that Claude-made MV. For the second essay, I personally fear I'll sand down parts of it I think will draw the ire of more adept artists and essayists. However, I don't respect essayists and respect artists practically against my will, and if I can't accept their anticipated judgements, that's just pathetic. To be clear, I don't think they'll get enough attention to draw such readership. It's more about me mentally modelling different readers and noticing the smarter and more cultured I attempt to model someone, the less impressed I imagine them being. Which is why I'm going to write a third essay about why I don't respect intelligence. Unfortunately, I actually do respect intelligence. It's mostly me wanting to write an aspirational essay about why I shouldn't.

Revealed preferences are brutal. I'm trying to intentionally engineer less Hatsune Miku art on my timeline, except it's just too good for me to not interact with. I do feel this sense of "you're so good, please make something else besides another Miku drawing." However, they're the ones with the skills, so the world (my tl) is theirs.
I have a lot of disorganized thoughts about this and the reaction to it.

I will make the prediction that hosting open-source AI model weights will not be heavily regulated by 2028. It seems too asymmetrical as you now have to ask questions like what should be done to someone moving to another country to download model weights. Serving AI models seems different. Take how Elon was sued over what Grok did on here. I don't think the question will necessarily be purely about capability, but specific sensitive areas, of course synthetic CSAM, and potentially cyber capabilities. I think chemicals synthesis capabilities has a greater chance of being scrutinized than bio capabilities (although there is overlap). I think the regulations on cyber capabilities will depend heavily in the delta between US frontier models and OS Chinese models. My current prediction is that is won't be sufficient enough to ban serving them. Although, I expect the voluntary thing the leading labs have about restricting this to keep going on. Annoyingly enough, I think frontier labs will keep quite strict guardrails on bio/chem capabilities even if OS models are very capable at them, with the justification being harm prevention by sorting out the lowest common denominator (worded more pleasantly).

Throwback to the time they stuck a IMAX camera on a satellite the shuttle was deploying and got some of the best in space footage ever taken. God I hope NASA takes some IMAX cameras to the moon on Artemis 4, it would be so dope.
Reading through my posts, I find it striking how much my tweets are just my own voice lathered with various degrees of rhetorical energy. The theater kid never sleeps. Feels like it's limiting my potential. I prefer it though, so I guess the question is: who am I writing for?
