Stopped west of Lakin at Millershaski’s fields. This one was zeroed out two weeks back. 4 years notill. Dug down and could see the wheat seed and the fertilizer pellets in the row two weeks back. Got a rain. It emerged a week ago. 1/ #wheattour23

I feel like a broken record but… Dec Corn closed at $5.53 today… Puts at $5.50 are 44 cents or about $85 an acre. 95% ECO #cropinsurance costs around $30-$35/acre for most farmers with similar price protection. So yeah…you might want to take a look.

Assuming a linear yield curve and forgetting that they are all at near crop insurance levels, with the cost of seed, the agronomic optimum is still near 800-1mm seeds? Plot repeated anywhere else?

SCA starting to show up with regularity in TX & OK Panhandles. Also near Wichita & Manhattan KS which is unusual this early. Low numbers and isolated spots. Time to start watching fields. This year only a minor issue in the south. Don’t neglect checking for headworms

Notes from a crop Adjuster (a thread) Dear Farmers, 1. The only reason to set up a claim pre harvest is if you are for sure going to destroy your crop (chop for silage, swath and bale). Only other reason is if it’s so bad there is no point in starting the combine.

Learned today-1 fuel usage is 20%+ less when planting into dry soils. 2. I can make a script with Agrian out of jd ops and export said script. It changes “ ‘ “ in name to ”-“ and it won’t recognize by field. 3. New Led lights likely enhance field ops better when installed
