AGE OF DARKNESS - AFTERWORD - A brief discussion here about how The Age of Darkness has a lot going on and as so little, relatively is known, it's pretty ripe territory to tell a bunch of short stories like this. A hit and miss collection; some was quite good. #WarhammerCommunity
AGE OF DARKNESS - SAVAGE WEAPONS - Basically Lion El'Jonson and Conrad Kurze meet up and brawl, while their honour guards (of two guys each), do the same. Some of them die. Primarch on Primarch has no result. Good bit of fluff, this one. #WarhammerCommunity
AGE OF DARKNESS - THE IRON WITHIN - The idea of Iron Warriors returning to one of their own worlds and having to fight their people there because they haven't turned on the Emperor is genuinely interesting, but ultimately I couldn't get into this one. #WarhammerCommunity
AGE OF DARKNESS - LITTLE HORUS - Putting aside that I never recalled "Little Horus" Aximand talking as poetically and eloquently before as he does in this piece, it's actually a solid short story, revolving around a horrific war wound he suffers. #WarhammerCommunity
AGE OF DARKNESS - THE FACE OF TREACHERY - After the last story was so good, this one's a deadset snoozefest. The premise is good - hunting loyalist ships around Isstvan VI after the dropsite massacre, but in practice it's just lots of shouty fleet manoeuvres. #WarhammerCommunity
AGE OF DARKNESS - REBIRTH - Menes Kalliston of the Thousand Sons is captured in the ruins of Tizca, on Prospero. He's interrogated by an unknown person who is eventually revealed to be Kharn of the World Eaters. The conversation is fascinating, intercut with some action scenes.
AGE OF DARKNESS - THE LAST REMEMBRANCER - Oh wow, this has been my favourite story in the book so far. Rogal Dorn and Iacton Qruze (who I liked in the early HH novels), interrogate a Remembrancer who's been with Horus. They slowly realise why Horus let him go. #WarhammerCommunity

AGE OF DARKNESS - FORGOTTEN SONS - A Salamander and an Ultramarine pair up to argue the case for the planet of Bastion to stay loyal to the Imperium, while one of Horus' interators argues the opposite to the world's governors. Hilarity ensures. Not. #WarhammerCommunity
@adembskibowden It is indeed, and it's one I raised on a pod before the series came out. Admittedly I was mostly talking about facial recognition for the actor, but I also raised stunt work and if the series was to be action packed, how easy it would be for it to not be him a chunk of the time.

AGE OF DARKNESS - LIAR'S DUE - Basically the story of how propaganda can win wars, planets even, without a shot being fired. Somewhere in the arse-end of space, an Alpha Legion operative sows enough FUD, that the world fights itself and falls to Horus easily. #WarhammerCommunity
AGE OF DARKNESS - RULES OF ENGAGEMENT- Adventures with the Ultramarines and a nice twist featuring Roboute Guilliman. Nothing major to comment on but certainly a nice intro to this anthology. It’s good to be back after some time away from reading. #WarhammerCommunity
PROSPERO BURNS - AFTERWORD - Surprised that Abnett felt the same about Space Wolves as me (although later recanted), and stunned at his medical issues while writing. He notes a change halfway through. Which I *felt* and is unknowingly reflected in my Tweets. #WarhammerCommunity
PROSPERO BURNS - FIFTEEN - Wrapping up and it seems this is the end of Hawser? He's allowed to wander off into some woods on Fenris and Russ says, "Until next winter..." which is what you say to someone dying, isn't it? Ambiguous, to me, as to what happened. #WarhammerCommunity
PROSPERO BURNS - FOURTEEN - Horus turns into Amon, who turns into one of Hawser's old pals. It's actually some Chaos monster who has been pulling a lot of strings, including running Hawser as a spy. It wasn't the Thousand Sons after all. Nice rug pull. #WarhammerCommunity
PROSPERO BURNS - THIRTEEN - Accounts of the smashing of Prospero by the Space Wolves, as told to Hawser, who is then relating them at a later date as a sort of saga. Effective storytelling here. Then it all ends with Horus appearing to Hawser. Wuuut?! #WarhammerCommunity
PROSPERO BURNS - TWELVE - Into the home stretch now. We're heading towards the events of A THOUSAND SONS, where the Space Wolves show up and totally ruin Prospero. Russ uses Hawser as a conduit to tell Magnus to stand down and prepare to be smashed. #WarhammerCommunity
PROSPERO BURNS - ELEVEN - Revealed! The Thousand Sons were using Hawser. A fight breaks out between Amon and Space Wolves and Custodes. He escapes. The Council of Nikaea doesn't even notice it happen. Then the judgement comes down. #WarhammerCommunity
