@RollyInitiative The choice is baffling? Given the dude is a stranger to us all his actions just made him look like an asshole. That maybe would have worked if he was an established love interest we had time to care about but we didn’t have that. So its just a miss
@SadieSingsSongs I wonder if some of it is he just isn’t used to acting in English? Looking at his IMDb seems to be a lot of small roles. I think he was just a dutch actor available and they backed themselves into a corner forcing this storyline with an actor who isn’t up to the role.
@sagebiscuit I would have maybe been more amenable to the “Rebecca making a leap” story by her asking him to move in with her. Jumping straight to engaged is wild when they’ve established they spend very little time together.
@Lassofiasco Why would we need to know his full name or anything about him? They told us he’s her one true love so we apparently don’t need any details about him 🙄 (though funny we know as much about 🚤 as her fuck buddy Luca)
@sapphicrebel PREACHHH. I don’t understand how anyone can look past all of this and think he’s her perfect, happy ending. It doesn’t need to be Ted but she needs to be with someone better because this isn’t it.
@yulia_kuz Wow yeah thinking back she’s been essentially silent ever since the season started. Something to think about for sure.
@uncorseted_ SO EASY. Unfortunately you know how to actually write a compelling story and they seem to forget how to do that.
I think the idea of calling someone “not a real fan” for being upset about a TV show is actually the furthest thing from the truth. It means the person cares *so* deeply for the characters that it causes a visceral reaction when they are written so far out of character.
if it’s true t/r will never happen and rebecca must have a romantic story, why not create a new character w multiple points of entry into the story played by an actor who didn’t have scheduling conflicts to be rebecca’s love interest? it makes no sense to me at all.
@stuckinrevmode Also said “clearly Ted doesn’t spend enough time with his son.” Is the “clearly” in the room with us? This wasn’t even brought up until ep 9 and it was one sentence 😭
@Lassofiasco Honestly if they are forcing them endgame I’d rather we skip to them being married. It would be worse imo to suffer a whole season of Rebecca wedding planning and watching a wedding. Marry them offscreen and keep him background like Julie Higgins - we almost never see her
@tedsbiscuits I’ve seen a lot of justification that “it’s how real friendships are you don’t talk all the time and go a while between seeing each other” which doesn’t work when they literally work in the same building and previously had no issue finding time to hang out at the club 🤷🏼♀️
@BRB_Dyying_ They randomly drop that Ted was missing his games so like most of this season, they put that story entirely off screen. I think it was just an excuse to recast the role and not make the other kid feel bad.
Also i do not believe for a second that Rebecca Welton ever enjoyed the institution of marriage nor being a wife.
@LauraS_442 @kentstarttt I would agree with that! But we didn’t see any of that. In the premiere we had them initiate zoom sex but that was it. But why not have some other quick calls to demonstrate they are active in each other’s lives? Several eps hr wasn’t even mentioned in passing just fully ignored
aren’t you guys tired of using the tedbecca agenda to put words into our mouths? our issue has long gone been about tedbecca and more about ted and rebecca as individual characters. we could not have been clearer and you think this is about a ship? more obsessed than us, jeez.
@LacklusterLivs It gives neither of them wanting to touch each other 😅
i hate it here (ted lasso season 4) so i will go to secret gardens in my mind (the tedbecca tag on ao3)
