Mammy Keeffe told me something I never knew tonight. I was in hospital for weeks after the operation to remove the growth on my neck that German measles caused. She was told I might be completely after it. She brought me home in a Moses basket and a loud noise spooked me. (1/2)
When I jumped in fright, she broke down crying and said to my Dad “She can hear!” Sadly, that didn’t last. Lost most of it before I was 19. We both were in bits tonight. But it was actually lovely. I don’t know the half of what she went through. 🥹 (2/2)
