I’ll try the new patch. I’m a trader at heart. And you will get more episodes from us, since I still have a lot to say about this game. But long term, if this is the direction they want to take it, I don’t know if there’s a place for me in it anymore. And that’s okay, just sad.😢

Even if this decision is changed, the fact that we are in this position is pretty demoralizing as a fan of @bethesda’s @Fallout games for over a decade. Some may think I’m making a mountain out of a mole hill but this is a mole hill I’m willing to metaphorically die on.

I enjoyed my time with #Fallout76, but it is already in a state where I’m having to role play as a pacifist in survival mode to get the same enjoyment I can get from other games. The lack of content combined with the lack of respect I currently feel has become an issue for me.

I try to defend #Fallout76 because at times I feel it deserves to be defended. This is indefensible to me. The level of incompetence needed to backtrack on this angers me because these decisions can overshadow all the hard work the developers have done, and will continue to do.

I buy Overwatch merch for that very reason. I want to support a company that I feel aligns with my values because I want to promote those values. NBA 2k’s model has reached an indefensible point for me, it has hurt the gameplay, and in my opinion is egregiously manipulative.

Just last week I spent 10 dollars in the atom shop. Not because I couldn’t live without a new hat or jumpsuit. Because I wanted to support @bethesda for what I think is a moral system that generates revenue for dlc content without manipulating players and sacrificing gameplay.

I can excuse a rough launch, preorder mistakes and data mined rumors. I can not excuse an official blog post non-chalantly introducing the game’s first real pay-to-win mechanic while asking for feedback and framing it as a player requested feature. It quite frankly disgusts me.

I want to first shout out all the devs who work on #Fallout76. From the artists who painstakingly model, rig, and UV map the assets to the level, audio, and game designers who help craft one of my favorite gaming universes. You’re all an inspiration to this game design student.
