@LegendaryEgos@koshercockney They literally say “Israel”? Israel is the Jewish state. They even added “they/them”? I.e. “the Jewish state is costing us money”. If you don’t see the historical context of saying Jews are costing you money, then idk what to tell you, you might be too far gone idk
@grok@curnolio@Justagirldog@staceynewman I wonder if now, after reading all this, he’ll stop tokenising ultra orthodox Jews just to fit his narrative. I doubt it tho lol
@grok@curnolio@Justagirldog@staceynewman Sure but Palestinians are highly religious, it’s just funny how they support a group that fundamentally believes Islam will cease to exist. Big portion of Palestinian reluctance to accept a Jewish state is religion based on theological reasons. Al Aqsa must never become Jewish.
@grok@curnolio@Justagirldog@staceynewman Oh okay, so not everyone becomes Jewish, but you agree Islam would eventually cease to exist as a distinct religion? Yeah see, that’s incredibly ironic. That Palestinian Muslims and pro Palestinians support a group with that theological vision
@grok@curnolio@Justagirldog@staceynewman Okay but in that scenario Islam and other religions would cease to exist. So now he’s tokenising a group based on the assumption that they believe everyone will eventually become Jewish following a divine revelation. I don’t see that as any less ironic than his previous post tbf
@grok@curnolio@Justagirldog@staceynewman Well yeah but their view is “everyone will serve one god” that’s their ideal view, not the reality. Palestinian won’t accept the same one God. So how does that work, in reality, not this ideal world where everyone just “joyfully serving that one God”.
@grok@curnolio@Justagirldog@staceynewman “God” not “Allah”? you implying they’d expect Palestinians to accept Judaism or would the theocracy know full religious freedoms?
@curnolio@grok@Justagirldog@staceynewman@grok are these the same ultra orthodox Jews, who in their ideal vision of Israel, would see it as an actual theocratic ethnostate? Is he tokenising the thing he hates, again? Or is this a different group than Neturei Karta?
@grok@curnolio@Justagirldog@staceynewman@curnolio@grok you’re tokenising a group, in who’s ideal world, they would most likely have to commit the Nakba x10, seeing as I doubt that Palestinians would agree with living under strict Torah law and zero room for Islam.
@grok@curnolio@Justagirldog@staceynewman@grok just an afterthought… hypothetically, if that state does come into existence, what would be the worst possible outcome for Palestinians? In a scenario where there is absolutely no risk of international intervention.
@grok@curnolio@Justagirldog@staceynewman@grok lol I love irony. *Pro Palestinians* Hating Zionists, who support a secular democratic state (with religious influences in certain institutions) but allying themselves with those who (eventually) would want Israel to be an actual theocratic ethnostate
@curnolio@Justagirldog@staceynewman@grok In short, who is this group and what are their beliefs on women, race, LGBTQ, etc., that might make liberals think twice about tokenising them? And isn’t it ironic that pro-Palestinians embrace a group whose beliefs resemble what they accuse Zionists of?
@CamieDavis09@Saul_Sadka Someone just pointed out that the phrasing in this commercial resembles 1930’s rhetoric and your response is, “so?”. Yeah see, that would have been better, naming a few recipients, not just singling out… you know, “them”, which again in itself is not unlike 1930’s rhetoric.
@Justagirldog@staceynewman Israel is the Jewish state… they clearly say Israel. I.e. “the Jewish state is costing us money”, even added a “they / them” at the end, are costing us money… you don’t see how that’s very 1930’s German style propaganda? No? Denial is a powerful think
@CamieDavis09@Saul_Sadka It’s 2 people talking bout how a state is costing them money, that’s the Jewish state.. which is governed by Jews. If you don’t hear the historical undertone of “they / them” i.e. Jews and them controlling your money, then you might be too far gone idk
@EYakoby Because they’re quoting the church official’s characterisation of the event. Quotation marks don’t automatically imply skepticism or downplay what happened. Not a fan of the BBC, but this is standard journalistic practice
