How could you see yourself using Skills View in your classroom? Participants said they might start with just 1 student; will start with ASDAN tasks (learning journeys); and some were keen to use to track literacy & numeracy goals.
Participants were given a task to problem solve with each other on #Seesaw. Why not try it yourself?

Recommended way to use the 4 star "grading system" for special needs classrooms - use them as Support Levels! Corresponds well with #ASDAN.

Block 4. Working with words. The aim is to help students become strategic when reading words.
An example weekly plan of predictable chart writing. Great way to get AAC users more involved.
Choose the appropriate "pencil" for your student. Flip charts, PODD, keyboards, brailler, eye gaze boards, speech-to-text, ipads etc.
Block 3. Writing. Students needs to communicate for an authentic purpose. They need to know why it's important.
There are some great age appropriate picture books for older readers, check out Jane Farrall online or Tar Heel readers!
Reading corners, teachers ask yourself... #balancedliteracy #literacy #specialed
Guided reading benefits both emergent and conventional readers/communicators however, emergent stds also benefit from shared reading.
Repetition is a proven method though use with variety.
Guided reading is where students develop comprehension. Use repeated readings but change the reading purpose each time.
