I see a weird cognitive dissonance in many Magic players (and, frankly, people in other areas) between 1) recognizing someone as an expert, even praising their understanding of a topic and 2) not defaulting to trusting this person's opinion when a disagreement arises. 1/15

@ABG_Majestic I understand that fine in theory but dont think its based in anything logical and devolves to tribalistic dualities where that arbitrary uniqueness is used to assert your group above another that lacks some of the shared traits. This is how opposition in a war gets dehumanized.

Early access is really a testament to the popularity of LoR and a showcase that viewership is there. Unfortunately everyone has the resources to craft the entire expansion on release and go off to play the game themselves

We were hesitant to make too many cards that paid off curses since we know players like to put eachother in jail regardless of how officially support it.
People do not want to acknowledge the fact that the ubiquity of technology, despite its many utilitarian positives, also comes with many distractions that provide instant gratification at the expense of much great long term returns on investment like higher education.
This has been the worst semester in terms of students’ ability to get work in on time. I’ve never seen anything like it & I’ve been teaching at the university level for over a decade. Students are not doing well yall. They’re not ok on multiple levels.

Combo players think that access to lots of cards advantage = more decision making, which is only sometimes true. In actuality it means you can afford to be more careless with your resources because every card produces more cards and you always have options.
ok I might be way off base here but why do some players think being a Timmy and liking big units going brr is a bad thing combo/control players also like when their own thing goes brrr so I do not understand like aren't we all degenerates in our own way in the end ?

Been a while. Had our 10th last week. Zoewyn Elyse is her name. Yep, inspired by the champs. Having said that, LoR is gonna be more of a background game for me. I don't have the mental energy to push myself competitively, at least to the level I want.
just finished my deepest playoff run yet. sucks a bit that it happened the weekend where only finals mattered, but still happy to have gone this far. last year i was a single game win away from worlds and while losing here sucks it feels a lot better than that! on to next year
