@ArmyWP_Football Army Football has always been more than game. We play for each other, we play for those that support us and we play for those that have come before us....For Living or Dying to Honor.... The Corps, The Corps, The Corps

The Corps bareheaded, salute it
With eyes up thanking our God
That we of the corps are treading
Where they of the corps have trod

They are here in ghostly assemblage
The men of the corps long dead
And our hearts are standing attention
While we wait for their passing tread

We sons of today, we salute you
You sons of an earlier day
We follow close order behind you
Where you have pointed the way

The long grey line of us stretches
Through the years of a century told
And the last man feels to his marrow
The grip of your far off hold

Grip hands with us now, though we see not
Grip hands with us strengthen our hearts
As the long line stiffens and straightens
With the thrill that your presence imparts

Grip hands, though it be from the shadows
While we swear as you did of yore
Or living or dying to honor
The Corps, and The Corps, and The Corps

@Schultz_Report Great locker room guy. He merely made a goof when he went to get a gun to execute a teammate.

@DrewSav A good start would be taking your hands out of your pockets when you are talking to the Commander in Chief?

“We’re here in Paris to let Houstonians know that even though we’re on a tight budget, we’re fighting for them” Urban voters must be disenfranchised. It’s that simple.

Stanley Kubrick thought the “I'm Spartacus” scene was stupid and didn’t want to shoot it. Knowing Kubrick was afraid of horses, Kirk Douglas pinned him to a wall with his horse’s nose: “Listen, you little prick. We’re going to try it.” A horse is why this scene exists.

Joe Mazzulla on reports of the Celtics vibes being high at training camp "Every team you lead is the most together team right now. Because we haven't traveled. No one's gotten benched. No one's been on a losing streak. No one's gotten blamed in the media. No one's had to go stand in the corner for 10 minutes and not get the ball. So, you learn those things as the season goes on, and you just learn how to work through those things together. And you can't simulate those. It just comes with time. And so, right now I would say all 30 teams feel great about themselves, and we got to wait till adversity hits. And adversity is even a strong word. There's nothing really adverse about playing in the NBA. But we got to wait until stuff doesn't go your way, and then you got to figure out who we are and how we're going to be at our best." Chris Spatola scored 1,543 points at West Point. Fifth most in the history of the academy. Then he graduated, put on the other uniform, and went to war. He served five years as an Army officer. He was a company commander. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and he came home with the Joint Service Commendation Medal, awarded for what the citation called exceptional combat performance. Then he came back to basketball. In 2007, Mike Krzyzewski hired him at Duke. There is something in that worth sitting with. Krzyzewski played point guard at Army from 1966 to 1969. Captained the team as a senior. Then served in the Army and was discharged as a captain. Spatola played guard at Army from 1998 to 2002. Then served in the Army and made captain too. Two West Point guards, 33 years apart, on the same bench. Spatola was on the Duke staff from 2007 to 2012. Four ACC Tournament titles. The 2010 national championship. He was a court coach for USA Basketball, for the team that won gold in Beijing in 2008 and gold at the world championship in 2010. He also married Krzyzewski's daughter Jamie. They had three children. After coaching he went into television. He joined ESPN in 2015 and spent a decade as one of the most thoughtful voices in college basketball, because he had been a player and a coach and a soldier, and he talked like a man who had been all three. He ran a basketball camp for kids in Durham every year. Chris Spatola died unexpectedly this week. He was 47 years old. ESPN said he was thoughtful, prepared and passionate about the sport. The Krzyzewski family said they had no words to adequately express their heartbreak over the loss of "our beloved Chris Spatola," and that he "served our country, was a devoted husband and father, and was such an important part of our family." Seth Greenberg put it shortest. "Heartbreaking. Such a good soul." He leaves behind a wife and three kids.

Normal every day American takes matters into his own hands, says the Lord’s Prayer, his final words are “Let’s roll” and he lays down his life to protect his fellow countrymen. It’s just amazing that our country can naturally produce people like this. We don’t need anyone else.
